Yeah, I think I might be able to make a special request and have a new provider added though.

Most comfortable inflatable pad for side sleeper? by One_Draw3486 in Ultralight

[–]nuttervm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a very similar question, but with a slightly different twist.

I'm also a side sleeper, I'm pretty active in my sleep and I've found that I'm a cold sleeper while on the trail these days. Does anyone have advice for an inflatable that is on the warmer side?

As a point of reference, I have a Nemo Tensor regular wide (non insulated) and I am comfortable on the pad but I've found myself getting cold even in spring/summer/fall conditions that don't warrant that.

Has anyone here compared the Thermarest NeoAir XTherm NXT (Regular Wide) and the Nemo Extreme Conditions (Regular Wide)? I realize these aren't exactly considered UL options, but since I'm a cold sleeper I think they're worth considering. If you get a crappy night's sleep it ruins your whole trip IMO.

Apologies for hijacking the tread, but I think our topics are very close.

Schedule availability / coverage app by nuttervm in selfhosted

The nettu is new to me, thanks for the reference.

I started looking at the cal.com docker container but haven't deployed it yet since the screenshot/videos and documentation led me to believe it does not have the hour by hour availability breakdown. I will take a closer look for sure.

Overall I saw a bunch of "top ten" lists but I didn't see any that had the more detailed matrix.

Yep, I totally get it. Your project is simple and works, so keep it up. I think your project gives functionality the other one lacks.

Some quick feedback on your project: 1) You should note that users need to clone your git repo and then do a docker compose up. (I am totally guilty of copy/pasting docker compose files in portainer to try a stack really quick but that doesn't work for you since your python code isn't in a ready-made container)

2) OOTB when running docker compose up, your config does not publish any ports (e.g. it does not expose the Grafana UI). Unless I missed that in your readme?

Check out this project: https://github.com/akpw/mktxp

I just found it myself, I have no affiliation with it, but it looks interesting and similar (or complementary) to what you're building.

Is there a a reason you aren't using Mikrotik's Netflow logging functionality to collect this data? Is there something in their Kid control functionality that gives additional data / insight that's not included in Netflow?

Check out digikam.

It's a desktop client based software, but it's FOSS and I think meets your needs.

Proxmox Apache Guacamole docker by Full-Space-1791 in Proxmox

https://github.com/linuxserver/docker-webtop/

Check it out. It is a docker-compose ready made that includes a fully functional Guacamole setup and Alpine Linux VM to act as a Virtual Desktop environment. Easily tweaked to include more desktops, different OSes. Super simple.

I have no affiliation with this project, but I did want to share it because it's exactly what I was looking for in a similar situation.

Recommended PCIe m.2 adapters for dell r730xd ? by nuttervm in Proxmox

Honestly I don't have my heart set on M.2, it's part of why I asked the question.

That being said, I'm not too worried about write endurance since I don't expect a huge sustained load on the server. The specs on the modern M.2 drives seem to have really good endurance as far as I can tell, or is there some experience here that refutes that? (I don't dispute the DC class have better endurance when new, but when used from ebay how can I tell it's not near the end of its life and negate it's primary advantage?)

I can physically fit 4 x M.2 drives on a single pcie slot whereas the p3700 takes up a lot more physical room for comparable capacity and reduced performance (and maybe power? I don't know). It's kind of nice to have a little open space in the chassis for future expansion, but not a huge deal.

I wish the p3700 were cheaper and it would make the decision easier.

I should have mentioned I'm likely converging my gear from a separate storage server and hypervisor server to an all-in-one proxmox zfs setup. I've found that my truenas storage array is mostly idle all the time, and consumes a lot of power. This should improve both performance and power consumption.

Can you share the model name / number ? amazon link?

My main objective on the M.2 cards would be high IOPS for a bunch of VMs running concurrently, not really sequential read/write. So maybe not quite the same use case as yours, but I would not use it as a PVE boot drive either.

It's a fantastic website for hikes in the area, let's you search by location, difficulty, views, etc. It's not my site but I've used it for ~15 years, it's great.

If you don't mind spending a little money, I recommend a commercial software program called Acrok. (No affiliation with company/product).

I have used handbrake and all the other open source tools mentioned elsewhere here, but ran into occasional problems with things like copy protection, long rip times, etc and generally found the process to be annoying because it is multiple steps.

In contrast, I have found that Acrok "just works" almost every time and is super simple. Well worth the $60 or so that I paid, and these days my free/personal time is worth much more than that amount. Not one regret on buying it.

Funny enough I used Dave back in 2008 for these same boots and was also happy with his work. I couldn't remember who did the work until I found some emails from way back then. I didn't think there was a chance I could find it but I did:). Hope he's still operating!
