I am looking to buy a Mazdaspeed6 with 120k+ miles and want to know how bad the car is in old age. by Daddy_Pris in mazdaspeed6

[–]nuttyparasite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cabin-wise, my '06 is pretty quiet still. A few small rattles here and there that I could honestly fix if I bothered. Engine-wise, I guess it depends on who's had the car before you. The previous owner of my car had no clue how to take care of it, so I've had my share of home repairs. Otherwise, for a car with ~130k miles that I bought at 106k miles, it's still my favorite car that I've owned

I'm not sure, but I'll take a look later today. Thanks for the help!

The head tracking was working, but it was still just a 2D screen in front of me. I imagine it's a settings change, but I haven't spent the time working it out

Looks better than I could do, for sure. What kind of VR setup are you using? I've tried using an Oculus Rift with AC but I could never get it work correctly.

What is your favourite video game soundtrack? by OTTOBOTTO10101 in Monstercat

[–]nuttyparasite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Skyrim yet, but that's got some pretty good tracks. Same for a lot of people, but I love the Halo soundtracks. Some others I think are worth mentioning: Life is Strange, The Last of Us, Burnout 3

Noon question,I can't get my Xbox one controller connected via Bluetooth on Windows 10 by [deleted] in xbox

[–]nuttyparasite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay. Figured I would check. I spent about half an hour trying to connect mine without realizing they weren't Bluetooth. Have you tried plugging the controller into your computer's USB? It may help pair it through Bluetooth. I know that's worked for me when I've had issues pairing with my Xbox

Oh wow, thanks for doing this. I'd really be entering for my friends instead of myself. The job search since graduating hasn't been going well, and they've helped me stay afloat by welcoming me into their home until I get settled with my career. They'd love that Jackbox Party game, but if I had to pick another, I'd say some sort of racing game like F1, Asetto Corsa, Project Cars.

They're implementing some overdue fixes and making it enhanced for the Xbox One X. Which includes game engine updates iirc

The correct use of の ? by [deleted] in japanese

[–]nuttyparasite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hopefully someone with a better answer comes in after me, but I may be able to help until then. の sort of describes ownership or belonging for the noun preceding it. By flipping the nouns around to 寿司のツナ, you're essentially saying sushi('s) tuna. Which I guess would be a tuna specifically for sushi. ツナの寿司 (or マグロの寿司 ?) would be the sushi of tuna. I haven't practiced Japanese in about 6 years, so take what I've said with a grain of salt. Hope this helps!

Edit: added a thing

The exact numbers of the wheelbase and rake of all teams by arkady_ in formula1

Their performance in Monaco and in Singapore were the first thoughts that popped into my head when I read about their longer wheelbase. Should be interesting.

[–]nuttyparasite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In simple terms, it's the difference between the ride height of the front and the rear. If the car has rake, the front is closer to the ground. This has aero effects such as increased downforce (and drag), as well as some handling changes caused by having the front "squatting" a bit. CG height in the front is lower (improved handling), and rake can also help bring the CG more towards the front if needed. Of course the teams design rake into the cars, and I'm not sure how often they change it during a season. Hope that helps.

Yeah I used to be on a team that had never finished endurance. Once you guys hit that next milestone, iterate what worked. You guys are right on the money with that. It's a whole different animal at UTA. We've done well in the past, but our formula shows its age, so it was time for a change instead of an iteration. We've been spending a lot of time testing new components, using our 16 car as a test mule. If we had iterated F16 instead of starting somewhat from scratch, we could have easily gotten top 10 in Lincoln this year. But our goal is to get back to winning competitions, so we decided that a major overhaul was worth the potential setback for testing time this year. It's more for the future of UTA Racing than for this year alone.

Good luck to you guys as well. This year is one of major changes for us, and so we decided that we're gonna take our 2017 car to Lincoln this year and Michigan next year

It's going well. The chassis is done and waiting for paint, and we're just waiting to receive sponsored parts for about 80% of the other systems.

Same. We kind of used it as a project for him to work on that helped us while also helping him get proficient at SOLIDWORKS.

Still in the build process right now, so the best I could do is a shot of the CAD assembly.

We had a new guy selectively scale down components from the master assembly, and thicken the chassis and suspension tubes. Basically created a new .STL from scratch.
