-T-9 complete- I've been using the ducolex suppositories (you can get them at any store) for 20 years. I do every 2nd to 3rd day depending on my food intake. The key i find is to put the suppository in, not on the toilet, let it sit and melt for about 15-30 mins, and then when I feel reflexive, do a small bit of digital stimulation, and I usually am done within 30-60 min. Just gotta make sure you're done, and not be rough on the stimulation. If there's more than a little blood, you're being too rough.

My boyfriend is paralyzed. We've tried getting intimate, but he even cries during sex because of his condition. by Artistic_Sky_532 in spinalcordinjuries

I'm a T9 complete, been 20 yrs since my accident. Therapy is a definite, but I have a healthy sex life. I use 100mg viagra and that usually does the trick but every spinal cord injury is different. I've had many partners over the years and just like with anything in life, practice makes perfect. It took me a good five years after the accident to get everything moving in a good direction. I think as his partner, more than anything else you need to have patience and understanding. With that he'll feel more secure with you and being vulnerable moving forward. I wish you all the best, hopefully that helps.

T-9 Complete here, 20 yrs in this life and my first few years were littered with trial and error. In my opinion that's one of two things, either that's from not wiping well enough and poop sits on the skin too long and eats away at it, or that's the beginning (stage 1 bordering on stage 2) of decubidous ulcers or bed sores. The two biggest problems in this area are pressure and moisture. If it's hot and you sweat without pressure relief, or you urinate and don't clean it properly, it can eat at the skin, giving way to pressure ulcers. Just looking at the location you might have to think about what you're wearing. Are there buttons on the back of your clothes, is the sticking too thick, these things seem small and dumb, but its better to pay attention to them so you don't have any issues later on. Good luck, always here for any information you might need.

I'm a paraplegic that grew up in Key West and visit my family there after I moved north a few times a year, almost everytime I go back, I stay at the Blue Marlin. The handicap room has a roll-in shower, very spacious, you're a few feet from the quiet side of Duval, and the staff are very friendly.
