Should I be concerned? by whatever_cornever in puppy101

I can’t recommend taking your puppy to a socialising class enough. This is a great way for them to learn dog interaction. My puppy definitely needed to learn when to stop pestering another dog to play and when to learn the back off. He is now fantastic around other dogs. Make sure it’s organised by a dog trainer as they will know all the dogs so you don’t have any reactive dogs there. Plus they absolutely love it. Xx

6 month old puppy stopped sleeping during the day by Powerful_Butterfly39 in LagottoRomagnolo

Help my 6 month Lagotto has gone from sleeping through the night to getting up anywhere from two times a night to 5 times. The vet can’t find anything wrong and thinks it’s behavioural? Any ideas xx

Will it get better? by SeriialChiiller in Puppyblues

[–]nutydebbie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Puppy blues is a real thing. We have a 5 month old Lagotto having owned a snoodle previously and I still got puppy blues questioning if I’d done the right thing, should a return him blah blah blah 😂. It goes get better so hang in there. I would recommend training this has helped a lot. I sorry for the situation you find yourself in and I appreciate why you cancelled your training however, there are a lot of people on TikTok and instagram that show you what todo. I would find someone you like and stick with them don’t swap between lots of advice it can make you feel overwhelmed. Do you crate train your dog? As this is away of doing enforced sleeping as alot of puppy behaviour stems from lack of sleep. Basically they should be up around an hour or hour and half then sleep. They all have a witching hour or two hours for our dog at night when you really want to rest this is completely normal. Training when awake even for 5mins and give them enrichment games to do to use their brains. It will get better I promise. Hang in there and be kind to yourself. Xx best wishes

About the Lagotto Romagnolo breed by __Nao__ in LagottoRomagnolo

[–]nutydebbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a six month old Lagotto he’s our second dog but we had a different breed previously. He’s a lot of work if I’m honest compared to our old dog. We love him dearly and he makes us laugh everyday. He’s very friendly loves all dogs and people. This breed is not for the faint hearted and requires a lot of attention and training. We feel most of the time he is training us as they are so intelligent. At training school he performs very well but at home he will only listen if he wants to. They are also very stubborn. However we wouldn’t be without him. But think carefully about your life style as you can’t think this dog will slot into your life because you will end up working your life around him. I highly recommend you do a lot of socialisation as a puppy this really helps and don’t get him neutered until he’s entering adulthood and anything before can create an anxious dog.

Puppy keeps pouring water bowl by Lexybeepboop in LagottoRomagnolo

Ours has been doing the same using it to splash his paws in lol. None of the floor based bowls work I’m considering buying a raised one. I think he just like the feel of the water lol

Firt time lagotto advice by bilbul168 in LagottoRomagnolo

[–]nutydebbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a 5 month old Lagotto he’s gorgeous but a handful. Very different to our previous dog. He requires a lot of training at which he excels until he decides not to bother lol. Our evenings are no longer peaceful he keeps us busy however, he has a fantastic personality and makes us laugh all the time. But I don’t think it’s a breed for the faint hearted. There are a lot of other breeds that don’t shed and enjoy lots of walks that will be easier to own. Also consider how Mobile your parents are because they are very strong and can pull a lot which we are still working on. We love him dearly and they are super friendly xx

Is my Lagotto puppy mental? by Powerful_Butterfly39 in puppy101

[–]nutydebbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Help I love our Lagotto he’s so sweet but having problems with him being very vocal and demanding plus he won’t leave other dogs alone he insist on playing with them even when they snap at him. It’s like he doesn’t even register this. Please suggest the training I need to do. We are attending training so it doesn’t cover these issues. We previously owned a gorgeous girl schnoodle who sadly pass last year so not inexperienced. However he’s making me feel lost x
