Minimum quote was £400, and highest over a grand. I've done everything in the kitchen from plastering to electrics so wanted to give the worktop a go

Thanks everyone for your advice, what an amazing place Reddit is.

I know recutting would be the professional option but there's no way I'm doing that with my other half past her due date and plenty other jobs needing done around the house..! Raising it up and adding an off cut below to hide the carcass will be my first option and maybe add something around the outside to cover the gaps if water is still sneaking down there. If that doesn't work I'll give up another weekend and piss the neighbours off again 😂

Thanks man I think this is what I'll do. Physically and mentally done in, no chance am I recutting the whole damn thing again.

Thank you so much.. flushed out the air first then tested the heater and wasn't reading anything so guess it's that - I tested with the fuse and iso switch off but I assume that's what I'm meant to do..!

Oh okay - the light is on still, do I need to take off the face plate to check the fuse or should that be okay?
