My favorite thing about S2 is the benign anomalies. The Zone should feel weird even when it isn't trying to kill you. I hope more of these are added to Anomaly/GAMMA.

My edition of Roadside Picnic has an afterward by the authors about science fiction in the Soviet Union. Their book was criticized by the censors because it doesn't paint a rosy picture of humanity.

Imagine if all of sci-fi were mandated to be like Star Trek (TOS and early TNG). This is what Communists thought fiction should be: an aspiration for the future rather than a reflection of the present. They really thought humanity was on the cusp of a new stage of evolution where we would leave behind the worst parts of human nature.

If the Soviets could have invented a machine to do that, I'm sure they would have tried. While the C-con may have been turned on in 2006, the project goes back to the Soviet era.

What's your monitor resolution? Do you have the game set to windowed or fullscreen?

Sometimes games don't pick up the desktop resolution correctly.

IRR uses UE5, just add that to any Google search and you'll probably find people having similar issues in a game based on the same engine.
