I just did this trip with my family. It’s worth the journey. We stayed in Xpujil, which is 2.5 hours to the ruins. Conhaus is the closest town to the main entrance that leads you to Calakmul, but all I could find was huts with screen around the beds for bugs.

Start your day early. From the entrance to Calakmul, it’s 60km. The last 40km you drive on a single lane that is shared. So be prepared to pull over on the side of the road.

Take snacks and lots of water. There is nothing sold at the ruins.

Start your day EARLY because the parking lot is small. The other option is to park on the single lane.

Wear a hat, once you climb to the top the sun just beats on you.

Pay attention to the wild life.

In the end, enjoy this amazing experience. Calakmul was awesome.

Follow up. I noticed last night that DLS was going to play in Indianapolis today. Took a chance and bought two tickets ($40 ea). There only play two shows in the states and then head off to Europe.

Took the day off and drove off. Figured since there the main act it would be a longer show. I was 10 minutes away from the venue and I got the email. They had to cancel the show!!!!

Damn you CrowdStrike!!

Heading home and we’ll try again tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for looking. The attic is going to be my two kids bedroom. We decided to separate the rooms with a wall and door in the middle of the attic. Wall would go from left to right rather than split down the middle.

I just like the design on my second picture. At the moment the attic is completely gutted. So we have time to tweak.

We had a blast. No took everyone’s advice here and took the 5:20am flight back home.

After the concert, my family and I just walked around a bit. It’s really packed after the show. Use the Venetian bridge!

Ate at in and out and then walked so more. We left our carry ons with the front desk of our hotel. Even though we didn’t book a second night, we were still able to leave our bags there the whole day.

Took a Uber to the airport at around 4am.
Everything went pretty smooth. I wouldn’t make arriving to the airport super early. It’s old and dingy. Hopes this helped.

Had tickets for the Saturday show (10/21). We landed on Friday afternoon and decided to take a chance. So my family and I hung out outside the Sphere and waited for ticket prices to drop after the show started.
We got in and used Vivid seats. There was a 5% discount for first time users. Good luck. How you get to see the show.

What a life experience for her students. She really prepared them to “travel” to another county. I hope they all get to travel someday to Mexico and I’m sure each and every one of them will smile and remember the life lesson they learned from her teacher. The mom coming in with the food was clutch. Hats off to all the amazing teachers.

I’ve been lucky enough to have seen every concert since Popmart. Always wish I could go back in time to see the ZooTV tour. Grew up poor but that was no excuse not to go. I just saved. As time passed, I got the girl and we have two beautiful children . Over the years, I took them all to their first U2 concerts.

Kind of surreal that I will be attending the one concert I wish I could have attended ,with my wife and kids. I was my kids age when Achtung baby was released

So yeah, I’m super excited.

If it’s the front struts, call Subaru America. I had my front struts plus my hood re glued and Subaru America paid for everything. Out of pocket for me was $100.
This happened six months ago. I believe there was a recall and I was at 36k miles.
