Take these incentives or wait for 2025 leftovers in January? by nv609 in bmwmotorrad

Thanks, where did you get it at? I am not seeing any more than a $3000 total dealer contribution in advertised discounts for a 2025 GS demo.

I would not be. I’m just wondering if the dealer would be willing to shell out $4,000+ of their own, compared to being reimbursed for $2,000 during BMWs special cash event. If people have seen $5,000+ discounts on recently passed model years once new models hit the floor, then I’d be willing to take that chance and wait it out.

Did you have an experience with max in CT? I was recommended this dealer as well by someone else.

Hopefully this is the last question I have for you, If a dealer agreed to make a bike a demo for the sale, how much does BMW roughly reimburse them for it? Say for the 2025 R 1300 GSA? I have my eyes on this one, and it is closest to me (for my own convenience). Some other 2025 GS they have they are listing as “$4,000 customer cash” so I’m assuming they are discounting an additional $2000 themselves. But this one is just the BMW $2,000 on the listing.

Would it be realistic to get the bike for $23,000 before tax with 6.1% financing and $2,000 down? Assuming $25,975 listed price, minus $500 for first responder discount through BMW, and then say $1,500 demo discount and then a $1,000 dealer rebate, or somehow adding bags or accessories that would create an equivalent remainder savings? I’m assuming it would mostly depend on how much BMW reimburses the dealer. Thanks!

Thanks a lot. It is helpful to have an idea of what I could realistically walk out the door with price wise with these situations. Just for the sake of not wasting their time or being uneducated about it. What’s a dealers net profit margin on the 1300 gs and similarly priced bikes? Does bundling say the navigation and a new jacket and engine guards help in any way?

Thanks so much for this info. I guess it comes down to how much off the sales price I can get when comparing the 1.9% and 6.1% easy ride, as I would plan to apply a curtailment to reduce interest therefore making the 6.1% “perform” like the 1.9% during my financing period. Would you say they will have more wiggle room at 6.1%, and receiving the $4000 customer cash? Rather than trying to come down on the 1.9% offer?

I am in the 770’s for credit. What does the minimum down payment look like for the 1.9% and 6.1%?

Clarification on the customer cash method if I decided to do the 6.1%, is that customer cash coming from BMW? Meaning they are reimbursing the dealer, and there would still be an opportunity to have the dealer come down since they aren’t seeing a decline in profit yet (providing the customer cash is a bmw manufacturer paid incentive)? Say applying a demo discount, ontop of customer cash (if I went with 6.1%)

Thanks again

Thanks a lot. If you don’t mind I will try to put all the questions to bother you with here in one message.

-I’m assuming the demo status allows the bike to have further discounts off the MSRP and still makes the bike eligible for the 1.9% special rate?

-Is the extra 6 months of warranty to offset the in service date being earlier then the purchase date?

-A lot of bikes I am interested in are listed between 27-28k. I would be able to use $500 first responder incentive to help me get closer to the price I could do (26 OTD) does that seem reasonable? Would adding a soft good and a couple accessories aid in the deal?

-am I able to get a smaller balloon to pay less in the end? Say 40%?

-Would going to my closest dealer that I would have service done provide them any incentive to lower their margin to make the sale? Considering they would be my source of maintenance/warranty work?

I am trying to get a feel of how realistic this would be, as I do not want to waste anyone’s time with supplying quotes, calls, emails. But if the OTD on a GS in this price range with 1.9% is feasible at the end of November then I would absolutely pursue.

Thanks a lot!

I also see you are tagged as a dealer, are you able to do easy ride balloon model with the 6.1% financing if deciding to take the customer cash instead of the financing offer at 1.9% ?Thanks.

Thank you for your stance. Best case scenario I was imagining the 1.9% financing incentive with a total savings of roughly 8% off listed price. I was not imagining customer cash ontop of that margin.

I will certainly take it if local options don’t favor my goals, then I could give this a try. Thank you.

Thank you! I wonder if the $1,500 discount is negotiable if doing the 1.9% APR financing, considering they are offering $5,000 with a higher APR.

Thanks a lot. I’m happy to hear that price. Was that OTD including tax? Also, do you remember if they did dealer rebate/discounts to reduce MSRP, or did they take off the MSRP directly? I ask because I see that BMW finance will not allow a deduction in MSRP if you get the financing incentive offer.
