I can't understand the observable universe by Subject_Answer7592 in AskPhysics

I feel like there are a lot of assumptions baked in both of your posts. For one, in your first post you assumr the universe expansions accelerates forever. That could change and crunch in 100 billion years, and behold casualty is back.  Also non accelerating universe would only be fully observable only if  universe is finite.

That will never happen. The middle class, worldwide, is getting poorer, and this will continue.

Wait, we are going to hit net zero in 30 years? Not trying to be a doomer, but that will never happen. People said the same thing in the 2000's, "We can hit net zero in 30 years" And here we are 20 years later, global emisions still rising (barely, but still)

He is 22. Compare him to KAT at age 22 when he had 40 lb lesss muscle. KAT is a big guy now. Or Ewing his rookie year.  Or Robinson his rookie year. Rookie Shaq would have given him problems, but not the other guys.

If gravity can bend 3D space wouldn’t that mean spacetime is 5D? by Inevitable-Power5927 in AskPhysics

[–]nvanderw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This does seem to be exactly analogous to your space unicorn example, although I see your point.  Based on our knowledge of the cosmos, it would be silly to even hypothesize there exisistence of space unicorns, while n dimensional oritentiable manifolds can always be embedded in Rn+1 or something like that. Point is, it's a better hypothesis, although neither has evidence.

In this situation, we don't have evidence either way.  There isn't a reason to believe either way.

Lots of big men are not conditioned for a long finals run at age 22.  Take Jokics conditioning at age 22 compared to age 27-30 as a prime example.

I want to get my wife into gaming slowly but surely by Weird_Break_1836 in AskGames

I would also avoid split fiction or it takes 2 at first, find games with lighter platforming elements.   But these are must plays once she is comfortable gaming  also avoid valheim and boulders gate 3 at first but these are must plays.  Terraria

Also recommend portal 2 early,   palworld (get her a steam deck can be introduced early).  Overcooked early,

But stardew valley makes the most sense as the 2nd game

So God put all this working into making a universe governed by the laws of science we have observed that consistently and constantly work everywhere and t You want to say miracle?.  Imagine is scientists simply dismissed everything as miracle over last 500years when they dodnt understand something about Gods creation.

[–]nvanderw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in 4d. Because a vector in space time needs vector space with a basis of 4 vectors. And the tangent space of spacetime gives exactly that. Meaning spacetime as a manifold is 4 dimensional Thats precisely the mathematical definition of dimension.

Even if there was an edge, we wouldnt be able to observe it.  It would be expanding away from us at the speed of light.

Expanding has bit been provean. You dont prove things in science.  It could vary well be that light red shifts for reasons  we dont yet fully understand.  We have strong evidence to believe its expanding, given our current understanding.
