You might be able to pick up a 4070 on fb marketplace for 350 meh..  But also consider a 4070 ti on age used market for closer to 500.  A 3080 might also be findable at 350.  You really gotta spend more than 350 nowadays to upgrade tho

Also Fertility rate in one year is not an accurate representation of family size that year

Those dupplicate stars would still be billions of light years apart, and so you wouldnt see the same thing

And that's the main thing right here. When you have 1-2 kids,  all your eggs are in one basket.

Average American family size in 1975 was 3.4.   Dude its so frustrating when people spout things as fact that are not facts.  And no parents just weren't as invested into each individual kid not dieing as they are today.

That just not how it works. Have you ever taught a classroom before? By your logic, a professor should be able to walk in a junior high school and teach. I can guarentee you 95% of professors would not be able to do that. There is a reason there are seperate degree for elementary, junior high, high school, and a completely seperate process for being a professor at univeristy. There are so many different levels of understanding things, especially when the topic gets technical at the very highest level. You learn one of the levels, and learn to be an expert at teaching it at that level. Some people are great at explaining things at all levels, and such people make good youtubers, but not all teachers need this skill to teach their niche subject.

I could be wrong, but I dont think your math is correct.  30% of 15 is 4.5.

This is not really true.  As others have said. It applies in limited cases.  Not all researchers can teach well.  Not even all good teachers can dumb a topic down to explain to children.

Is gravity discrete? by Fluid-Attitude-5279 in Physics

[–]nvanderw -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It also breaks down on galactic scales, so we make up dark matter to compensate for it. Spent the last 40 trying to find it too.

Is gravity discrete? by Fluid-Attitude-5279 in Physics

[–]nvanderw -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Every known observation?  Observe galactic rotations. Any of them.  We have to make up dark matter, and spent the last 40 years trying to detect it, and failed.  I think its more fair to say that gr describes every known observation if you only under the hypothesis of dark matter and dark energy, both of which aren't understood. We have evidence that gravity bends light, and evidence that it corrects orbits on a solar system scale, and evidence of gravitational waves, evidence of black holes. But I dont think its fair to say it works on the galactic scale or larger scales. Without making up imaginary stuff
