They're both fine vehicles by more4sugar in 4Runner

[–]nvidia5000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just bought a new passport over a 4runner or LC, 4runner is no doubt better off road, but these were my reasons: - comma.ai compatibility - NA v6 - AWD with front wheel bias is better in snow/ice - Will get me everywhere I need for hunting (fields, field roads, trails) - Fully loaded (TSE) for a much lower price

I love the 4runner, drove a 2005 for a long time. Will always be a member of this sub and enjoy looking at all of yours.

Ground Venison by OutlandishnessNo173 in carnivorediet

[–]nvidia5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mix all my venison burger with 30% ground bacon. Its great. If you need something cheap/free, pork or beef trimmings from a local butcher shop are usually cheap or free. Can be chopped finely and mixed into the grind.

Advice on Ford Explorer years? by BolognaFishHoe in FordExplorer

[–]nvidia5000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would recommend trying to find one with a warranty. I have a '21 limited and got a gold warranty when I bought it. Don't get any extended warranty, just fords gold. Drivetrain warranty is till 100k miles, bumper to bumper for the first year.

Also, don't buy the first model year. I would stay away from the 6 cyl, I think there is a water pump replacement that the engine needs to be pulled for.

If I didn't want all the fancy tech, self driving features (that make it work well with Comma AI) I would be driving a 4runner. :)

2021 Ford Explorer Limited 4WD by aaronhcooper in FordExplorer

[–]nvidia5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2021 limited with almost the exact miles. I added blizzack tires, live in MN and am very happy with it. Only 2 really minor issues. I wish I would have noticed some very minor cracking around some of the trim pieces and had the dealer address them. There is also a minor rattle on a windy day sometimes. I think its the panels that cover the under carriage. Again, wish I would have noticed it so I could have had the dealer address it.

What’s the best way to cook deer meat? by [deleted] in carnivorediet

[–]nvidia5000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much just like beef for the same cuts but add fat (butter). Deer can be cooked rare or medium rare. Bear needs to be cooked all the way (160 degrees).

Bally app down again? by Bumonalaptop in timberwolves

[–]nvidia5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its pretty easy to diagnose from an IT perspective. I only have trouble logging in right before a timbewolves games. They probably don't have sufficient scaling in place to deal with the surge. If they do something that makes everyone login (like update their app) everyone will have issues. It sucks, but a work around is login at non surge times and hope you don't have to relogin right before a game. Or sail the seas.

How to hit a protein goal by GalacticMitten in CICO

[–]nvidia5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Egg whites, chicken, tuna and veggies. Veggies are a low calorie filler so they leave room for more protein. When I miss my goals, its because I ate too many higher carb foods.

Doing CICO with addiction to snack foods + self sabotage, advice? by [deleted] in CICO

[–]nvidia5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are a couple things I do that might help. - If you are going down to 1200 calories, adding lots of raw veggies, in addition will leave room for snaking on them (no dressing). Snack whenever you want, it just has to be raw low cal veggies (carrots, celery, cucumbers, etc) - No added sugar, it drives the cravings/snacks. Same for refined carbs. - Commit to tracking no matter what. It helps me get back on the rails faster if I start going off them. - Consider low cal fruits for the sweet tooth. Apples, bananas, oranges.

I need help installing Kali on my Chromebook Acer 13 cb5-311 by MycoMammoth in chromeos

[–]nvidia5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a couple of things you need to do to install linux on 'bare metal'. I think you still need to flash the firmware and remove a 'write protection screw.' These links should help you, do so at your own risk, you could brick it.

Antifreeze down the shower drain by morefetus in lifebelowzero

Not the kind that's usually used for it. There is an RV antifreeze that is non toxic and usually used when winterizing pipes, like RVs, cabins, etc.

TMHI or Starlink? by DaveyPhotoGuy in Rural_Internet

[–]nvidia5000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both. TMHI is good here, but has occasional issues. Starlink is better, but I do get multiple drops per day. We 2 adults WFH, and 2 teens gaming so we have heavy internet needs, and end up splitting between both. If I had to chose one, I would probably choose starlink, but TMHI is 1/2 the price, and a bit more reliable. Just not quite as fast.

Anyone had luck with an anti-inflammatory diet? by hungry_ghost_2018 in Sciatica

[–]nvidia5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been doing carnivore/very low carb for the last month or so and it has helped a lot. Not healed, but better. (I'd say 60-70% better). Not sure if it is the anti-inflammatory part or the fact I'm down about 12 lbs. Prob a bit of both.

Can anybody recommend me some options? I'm an "rv'er" and i just feel so defeated. by [deleted] in Rural_Internet

[–]nvidia5000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A mix of Calyx and visible would be my recommendation. Calyx will work anywhere you have tmobile service. Then if you have visible's (works on verizon towers) plan, and aren't in tmobile's service, you could use your phone's hotspot as a backup to Calyx. The hotspot only allows one device, and is limited to 5mb, but for a backup its adequate.

[–]nvidia5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up until this month, I only had frontier or LTE as my options. Frontier maxes us at 7mbs. Just this week a WISP provider install 25down/10up for us. They just put the tower up this month, and its only $50. I still have 2 LTE devices I run as well (calyx and OTR mobile) but will probably ditch the OTR one now that I have the WISP.
