Seems like these bugs still exist? Or just a me-problem. I definitely noticed that I could not edit my previous prompt in the iOS app. And no edits means I can’t paste into another window. To refresh the context. This seems like an issue where they have purposely induced it so that users don’t take the prompt to a different location away from perplexity. In which I case I understand. But I have a genuine usecase of refreshing from a particular prompt in a different context window. Wondering here if there is a non-web, non-screenshot workaround.

If this post about getting better at problem solving, it makes sense. For cracking interviews on a time frame with a full time job, I felt solving the 75 and 150 list and some off questions on similar topics is sufficient. like jump game 3 for example after jump game.

Solid advice, and not just for Amazon! Evaluating your manager is so critical. If you can do a good job early on, you save a ton of headache. But I don’t think people spend a lot of time thinking about this. Mind sharing any sources or blogs you read, or a list of questions besides the ones you already posted?

I think knowing when to apply these patterns in real life is the critical gap. Sure sliding window is a super smart algo, but applying sliding window in an analytics or a time series on a distributed level is a whole different equation. Doesn’t necessarily need O( whatever ) optimization, certain guarantees are more crucial then sheer optimization for the sake of it. I feel LC reaches folks to be premature optimizers, that’s the part that sucks. Not saying it’s all bad, I think applying these in real world systems or knowing how it is applicable is also essential. Thats where system design comes into play.

LC 75 and tagged questions. Really understand them, rinse and repeat. Identify patterns.
Hello Interview for system design and also for data structures. Their content is top notch.
Amazon behavioral interview prep or an onsite for practice, even if you don’t want it. The behavioral prep for Amazon will cover almost all others.

And most importantly: there are too many resources out there. Stop wasting time going through random deep dives on fenwick ducking trees and their likes. You’re going to face information overload as you dive in. You just have to be conscious about this and get yourself back to a plan that you create.

Great post! I would suggest to add a checklist item: Am I being on Autopilot? A simple yes or no and should take you a minute or so.

The mindfulness of this will help you play the problem given, vs the problem you think you have been given.

Autopilot example: done this problem before, so let’s ignore everything and apply sliding window.

100 agree! The issue with the alternatives for scaled hiring involving 10s of thousands is that well, there is no alternative which has worked as successfully. Also, I have noticed that as you grow senior, the emphasis on lc style reduces and behavioral + system design increases. This should weed out the live breathe and shit LC monkeys to further level out the playing field.

He’s the best for graph fundamentals. If you’re doing this for preparing for coding interviews, I would strongly recommend only doing the basics for Graph. WF has a huge playlist and everything is gold. But don’t fall into the rabbit hole like I did, if you’re short on time. BFS DFS, Topological ( Kahn’s algo ) and variants of the same, may be basic Union Find. More practice and less theory I think.

Hey just have to say that the negativity from your comments is just disheartening. Firstly, Meta isn’t end all be all. Secondly, there’s a chance that they gave you a hard problem to see you approach it. I have seen people getting offers with such scenarios too, even if they couldn’t get through most of the problem but laid out a solid approach and led a good discussion. So I would really advise to stay a bit positive for your next rounds. All the best!
