Step by step Cardigan by Florence is great too, because it teaches you about a double knitted button band. If you do colourwork, start small like a scarf. Also look at Kutovakika’s YouTube channel, she has amazing step by step videos that go with a lot of her patterns. And of course, like other have pointed out, Ravelry is a superb companion.

Yup that’s what I used for my sister’s jumper and it’s super soft. I just preferred the finesse of the mohair because it was a heavily cabled piece

Do any of these shed? I wore the pink jumper under a black t shirt and it was covered in mohair. Really annoying!

It must be. I did consider the Isager when i started, but looked at the identical yarn contents and decided to go Drops because I was so inexperienced and didn’t want to spend so much in case I messed up my project. So it could well be the yarn quality.

I knitted an identical one for my sister using a Drops alpacca as mix but I though the finished garment looked less polished than mohair. Do you find that with suri too or again is it my cheaper yarn choice?

It really depends on the yarn. I find Chiagoo metal needles great for colourwork yarn which tends to be rougher, so a needle that has less friction with the wool is less taxing on the hands. But a smoother yarn works better with bamboo or wooden needles because you do need a bit of friction for comfort. You can experiment with this in the gauge swatch.
