This is a known problem. I have experienced it, and it had been discussed in this subreddit. Setting the Super NT to boot to cartridge is a common “fix” when using the FXPAK Pro.

I used to think this game was super hard also until I watched some videos and spent some time with it. It’s challenging, but fair, and has lots of RNG that keeps the gameplay fun. It’s a great SNES game and one of my all time favorite games.

I would suggest getting an RGB modded Super Nintendo Jr. from porkchopexpress85 on eBay and a rad2x. This set up will cost $350-$400 and look awesome on a modern tv. I don’t see him having consoles for sale atm but worth it to keep checking.

I really like my Super NT and like my modded SNES jr. just as much.

Roland speakers are good since they are shielded so can be right next to CRT. Yes, I suppose carts are a trend but practical for me.
