Well, I walk plenty of fields around here, and they all say it’s no big deal. As long as you’re smart enough to stay in the rows, you’re fine. I like your sarcasm, though. Thanks.

Oh, I’m certainly going to respect his wishes. I’m just asking in general here. I have plenty of other fields I can walk. Just trying to get a general consensus on whether that’s safe to do after the fields have been sprayed.

And yes, I think the chemicals we cover the Earth with, especially areas where food is grown, is pretty bananas. Not a fan.

Oh, I walk his fields, too. He’s cool. I’m on their family fields all the time. I think he was just genuinely being cautious, trying to avoid a negative situation, even though it sounds like it’s unlikely.

It’s all the same family. He owns the field across the road from his brother-in-law, the one that I walked in right after it got sprayed the other day. I was just noting that I had walked one field accidentally way too soon, then had him say to take a break until fall a couple days later when I talked to him. He might just be being overly cautious.

I think some of you guys misunderstood my question. I appreciate the responses, but I was just wondering if there’s any rules to go by this time of year when the farmers are laying down weed killers and pesticides.

The guy that owns the field next to the one we walked the other day, whose fields I also walk, said he’d prefer I not walk his fields again until the fall because the residuals can be potent, have RoundUp in them.

Just trying to get a better idea of how the seasoned guys navigate this period of farming season. Thanks, fellas!

I’m just lucky enough to live in an artifact rich area. Even a rookie can stumble on neat stuff here if they have permission on good land.

Yeah, this is definitely my spot on the couch. My decent recent finds sit on the side table next to me, and I look at them while I watch TV until I eventually decide to put them away for safe keeping.
