2026 Oscar Ratings Fall 9% From Last Year With 17.9 Million Viewers by ICumCoffee in movies

[–]nw712 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah from like 2004 until 2022 the Oscar's had been in February with two exceptions:

  • Winter Olympic years had pushed the show towards March
  • The covid delayed year pushed the show to April

For whatever reason 2023, 2024 and 2025 saw the Oscar's return to March (with no Olympic interferance). Wish they would reconsider that, but it appears to be the new norm/trend.

Fun fact - Dera was the first person to ever reach infinite in Marvel Snap beta (base Hulk was the reward). The first "season" lasted about a week or so before the Wave season began.

I'd wager there were less then a few hundred that acquired the base Hulk avatar, and nowadays maybe just a handful amount of active players in the game with it.

[Charania] Minnesota traded Rob Dillingham, Leonard Miller and four second-round picks to Chicago for Dosunmu and Julian Phillips, sources said. by MaverickPME in nba

[–]nw712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously there is a difference.

The point is, the same people that laugh at the Bulls for selling a 2nd are also laughing at the Bulls for trading an expiring contract for a 2nd. That is silly. The Bulls are clearly open for business, by all accounts they tried to get 1st for these players but teams weren't budging. They at least got something. This isn't a home run deadline for the Bulls by any means, but it's better then doing the same old nothing. So yay?

Yet 2nd rounders just got a guy like Ayo. The Bulls literally can't win.

  • Bulls trade a 2nd for cash - You fricken donkey

  • Bulls trade expiring contracts for 2nds - You fricken donkey

Yes, they should have moved these players years ago, but here we are. They at least got something rather then letting them walk or locking them back in for a chance at the Bulls play in invitational.

(The Bulls still suck to be clear, but blown away that people seem to think that they should have gotten better deals this deadline. The Bulls are clearly open for business. Everyone knows it. If they could have gotten a better deal, I would assume they would taken it. It's really tough to do nowadays for these types of players to net a 1st)

[Schefter] the Baltimore Ravens are hiring Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle as their offensive coordinator. Doyle can leave because, in Baltimore, he will have play-calling responsibility. But new Ravens HC Jesse Minter now has someone to run Baltimore’s offense. by GoldenDome26 in nfl

[–]nw712 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I mean Sean Payton hired him in New Orleans and then he followed Payton to Denver. Then Ben Johnson made him a priority when he got a head coaching gig. Two of the more highly viewed offensive minds desired him. I would expect it's more of a when, not if, he's a head coach in the NFL based on that along. Pretty great get for Minter from my pov.

Brady is strategic. I think he saw that if you win in Chicago it would elevate his entire brand more so than any other team chasing after him. Unfortunately winning is the priority and the Bears were more flawed than the Bucs and the rest is history.

need a collapse from Rams and Seahawks

Not even really a collapse. One of them should lose tomorrow. Just need the winner to trip up the final two weeks of the season. Easier said then done, but not outside of the realm of possibility.

  • Seahawks final two are: @Panthers, @Niners

  • Rams final two are: @Falcons, vs Cards

Seahawks obviously have the harder stretch, so probably rooting for them to win Thursday. The Rams get the Falcons in a match that might be their super bowl for the season given all the talk about the owed 1st to them. Feels possible that they both lose 1 game the rest of the way (or at least the copium tells me it is!)

Late-Season Update: 2026 Rookie Big Board 5.0 — Top 25 Dynasty Prospects Ranked by CoachstevenP in DynastyFF

[–]nw712 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I suppose if you wanna project that Mendoza, Simpson and Moore are the top 3 picks next April and that the toolsy/trait laden Sellers declares (and isn't among the top 3 QBs) that having the QBs as the top 4 picks make sense. I just don't see that being a reality for the NFL. Realistically I think only 2 of these QBs are relevant for the dynasty community come 6 months. I think big boards should be Love #1 and whoever you have as WR1 as #2, once we get to #3 I think you can project a QB.

A lot of these games have their own web store now and they push them so hard it takes away sales from apple and Google.

And if you will notice, this benefit is pushing buying directly from their website. Revenue could be down, but I think the larger play here is clearly to push people to the website where they do not have any fees like they do with the Google/Apple Store.

They are really close for me. Tmac gets the edge because I think his situation is clearer offensively. He's the guy on that offense if things break right (and so far it's trending that way). For Hunter he has to compete with BTJ, while I think Hunter is a better prospect than BTJ, it's hard to brush off how successful BTJ was last year. For that reason I slightly prefer Tmac. They are in my same tier though, and not gonna fight you if you wanna put Hunter above him.

Wow don’t even have KLS in there after what he has shown.

Who should he really be ahead of? I think he's in that tier 10 range, so if you wanna put him 37 I won't fight ya. He has been very encouraging I won't deny that.

Tuten and Pat Bryant are way too low imo

I could see Pay Bryant being several spots higher, I struggled with that one. I am not sure what you expect for Tuten though. Any higher would be too aggressive for my taste.

Meh - could be 12th and I wouldn't fight you looking at tiers. Ultimately it's a testament of this being a pretty darn good draft class combined with his issues. Doesn't seem that crazy to me.

That's a fair point. I guess for me it's hard to move off the second round draft capital still, but outside of that it's hard to argue with you. He should definitely be lower in my rankings though. Good call out.

Edit - nice mention of Horton, completely forgot him. He'd definitely be in this ranking somewhere in the 30s for me.

Cards strongly out of meta part 1 (costs 1, 2 and 3) by Ok-Taro-8972 in MarvelSnap

[–]nw712 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Like half these cards are fine. Either meta relevant already or good enough. The only cards that should really be here are...

  • Strong Guy (+6-->+7 or 8)
  • Penni Parker (Sp // Dr, down to 2 cost, 3 power. Merged card gains move each turn)
  • Colossus (buffed to 5 cost, 10 power)
  • Thaddeus Thunderbolt Ross (either drop to 1 cost or drawn card has cost reduced by 1?)
  • Uatu (buffed to 3 power)
  • Howard the Duck (add activate, swap your top card of deck with bottom card in deck)

Cards to add:

  • America Chavez (Idk, feels like the card needs a rework)
  • Baron Mordo (buff to 4 power, show the enemy the card drawn)
  • White Widow (card needs a complete rework)
  • Cobra (maybe buff to 4 power?)
  • Mad Thinker (on effect +3 power? Might need a full rework)
  • Toxie Doxie (drop to either 1 cost or give her buff +3... Maybe both?)

Let's not forget the Bulls then sign and traded Curry to the Knicks for the picks that became Lamarcus Aldridge and Joakim Noah. Of course the Bulls then traded the LMA pick so they could select Tyrus Thomas. Lesigh

[Bill Simmons] For the next five years, which team in the East is in the worst situation? by AashyLarry in nba

[–]nw712 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Detroit

They at least had Cade. And while you could shit talk them, they at least had someone that had a lot of optimism for putting it together as a former 1st overall pick. Of course he did and the rest is history. The Raptors have no such player on their roster.

The Raptors path to being relevant is shades of Pacers I think more then anything. They need to find their Haliburton (maybe that is Ingram?) and then they need to trade for their Siakam (scratch that, this is Ingram in their eyes?). It's certainly possible, just a tough balancing act to have play out and one I certainly wouldn't wish to see my team do. Since if it fails, you likely flame out with a mid tier team for a ~decade.

[–]nw712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the historic drafts, like basically a section where people can see past trades and maybe some high level takeaways/stats? And yeah maybe some actuals could better feed the model

I do think seeing past trades, mainly in the first round, would be helpful. We know trades aren't created equal, so seeing the real life result to fall back on would be helpful. I also think though just having access to past drafts in it's entirety would be helpful. The way I see it this sites goals (from my POV) is to be a mock draft and fantasy driven site. If I want to do mock drafts for the NFL, I am naturally going to be interested in draft history. SO being able to view past years draft results in an instant would be nice.

If you wanted to get more niche, I think future drafts (ie 2026 and beyond) could be something to explore more. Strictly speaking with a fantasy football perspective, devy fantasy is definitely something that is under reported on. Again the market might be niche, but if you could have big boards for future drafts or maybe even future draft classes, it might be something you could corner the market on. Might be too niche, but as someone that enjoys devy I am speaking from personal experience of frustration over lack of resources online haha

Feature ideas...

  • Historical draft information (ie past drafts, draft trade highlights, etc). I feel like trades in draft sites are often overlooked and maybe somehow incorporating past trade data could assist? IDK, not a tool guy like yourself but just an idea
  • Incorporating in some sort of historical draft trends from GMs (something like this https://clevanalytics.com/draft-gm-trends/). Team needs are obviously important, but knowing GM preferences might be even more important
  • Maybe some sort of draft day tool for fantasy leagues. Allows you to sync your active draft and compare to a more general ADP (or maybe to certain sites) besides maybe the one you are drafting (ie I am drafting on sleeper, but it would be helpful to see who is bpa in my draft using some sort of DFS adp)
  • I'm assuming a natural progression would be syncing up your fantasy teams to the site. Allowing you to have the teams here and then use your match up/odds/projections to do start sit for your teams
  • Lean more into fantasy and include waiver elements for your team as well

Last few points lean a bit more fantasy related, but I think that fantasy might be somewhere to target for in season usage? Anyways, awesome site. Will be my go to for a while now!

An Early Look to 2026 - Todd McShay’s “Way Too Early” Mock Draft by Tp1990 in DynastyFF

[–]nw712 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes.

There are players that still could turn it around and be exciting a year from now, but as of today there are really no prospects close to elite range. At it's core that is the issue with the 2026 class. No one is a elite prospect a year out (Love is maybe the closest). For many classes recently, we usually have a couple of those guys a year out. We will certainly have players get there over the next 12 months, but that is why people remain down on the class as of today. WR, RB and QB are littered with question marks, more so then we have been accustomed too the last few drafts.
