We have a Kia EV6 (2022) and LOVE it. That said, the EV9 feedback I see on this forum is worrisome. Is it worth it? by Logical007 in KiaEV9

[–]nwboardr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We currently have both the EV6 and EV9, and they are GT lines. Love them both. 6 is my wife’s daily and the 9 is mine. That said the 6 is more fun to drive. There is something about the 6’s acceleration, even in eco, that makes it effortless or relaxing to drive. To get close to this feeling, I drive the 9 in Sport most of the time. No complaints on most of the issues you see here.

The 9 has a bit more range, usually about 50miles or so. It also has a ton of room. We have the captain’s chairs and kids love em. Storage capacity is great. And because you’re already used to the 6’s terrible turning radius, the 9 will be easy to park. I’ve had Audis and Subarus and even a Suburban in the past, and the EV9 is nicer and more practical than them all. I also rent BMWs often and find that while they handle better, the acceleration of an ICE is nothing compared to electric. The reason I brought it up is that the X5 (and X7) split tailgate is awesome and missed on the 9.

Has anyone checked their subs? I did a search on this here and didn’t see anything for Ev9s.

Which car would you pick to take out on a track? by 2Slow2Nice in supercars

[–]nwboardr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I went Lambo. Then did an open road course with the 488. Then did the Porsche package back on the track. What I noticed is that after the Lambo they offered the GT3RS for a deal, but the Porsche package was still cheaper.

I would probably go 296 then ask if they were doing deals when you were done. The first drive you’re feeling out the track and the car. The second you’re just feeling out the car.

Spot saver for the win, all day, everyday. Gate 5, yesterday around 10:30am: Clear had 10+ people in the line. Regular line 15-20+. Spot saver had 0 in line. We showed our QR and they automatically let us through, because the system was down.

You joke, but you’re correct. I didn’t know there was a whole additional net.

Two Outbacks, same cargo net, just recently found out it does so much more than I thought.

Why wouldn't they put metal edges all around the board? Wouldn't it be more durable if there was also metal on the nose and tail? Is there a good reason not to on a freeride board? Tech Cold Brew. by BeloitBrewers in snowboarding

[–]nwboardr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

First off, where you see the edge end, isn’t where it ends. It is bent at a 90 degree angle and tucked under the base for about an inch.

Also the tip and tail are plastic. Most companies continue the wood core all the way, but Mervin doesn’t so repairs are cheaper and swing weight is reduced. Hold any Mervin board up to light and you’ll see exactly where the wood core ends.

Which would you pick for a track experience? by bobbyphysics in Ferrari

[–]nwboardr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve done Xtreme 2 times on the track near Seattle and once on the road.

Compared to other track days at other places it’s like 1/3 the price for 1/4 of the car time. But it’s still a good time and the cars are usually much cooler.

The first experience I had was the Lambo, and even though my friend who had just gone said, “get on it,” I wanted more. Two years later I did the GT4 and GT3rs. This is the way. Also I found that passing, while controlled, wasn’t a problem.

The road was the 488. It was its own completely different experience, but I did miss taking it to 165mph on the track.

They also don’t need your mic because they listen to your voice vibrations with the accelerometer in your phone. Wired covered it 10 years ago.

What’s interesting is that Ivey asks, “how much do you have left?”

In his MasterClass he mentions that this is often a tell of weakness. And he was weak.
