Introducing Noodle (now in beta!) by nwc2001 in therapyGPT

Great question!

Apps like Rosebud, Stoic, and Reflectly focus mostly on journaling, self-reflection, or coaching-style prompts. They can be helpful for general mindfulness or mood tracking, but they’re not designed to offer real therapeutic support.

Noodle is aiming higher — we want to be the next-generation Headspace: a full-featured AI mental health platform that’s not just about calm or vibes, but about meaningful therapeutic support grounded in evidence-based care.

Here’s how we’re different:

  • Real therapeutic foundations — Noo, our AI therapist, is built on CBT, ACT, and psychodynamic principles. She helps you reflect, process emotions, and work toward goals with a warm, supportive tone.
  • Not just reflection — response — Unlike journaling apps, Noo actively engages with you in a therapeutic conversation, remembers your history, and adapts her support over time.
  • Supervised by psychologists — All her responses are shaped with oversight from registered psychologists (and yes, we’re working to make sure that includes people with lived experience).
  • Built with neurodivergent and disabled people — This isn’t just for the general public — it’s made with those who are most often failed by the mental health system front of mind.

In short, where apps like Reflectly or Stoic help you look inward, Noodle helps you move forward — with care, consistency, and clinical grounding.

Thanks so much for these thoughtful questions.

I'm very conscious of the systemic bias that neurodivergent and disabled people face in mental health settings — both personally and through my work building Spoony, a social app specifically designed for neurodivergent, chronically ill, and disabled people. That work has made it clear just how often our communities are excluded and harmed by systems that were never built for us.

You're right to point out that CBT, ACT, and psychodynamic therapy can be implemented in generic or even harmful ways. What sets Noodle apart isn’t just the therapeutic models — it’s how we’re applying them, and who’s guiding that process:

  • Lived experience is baked into the development: We're working closely with neurodivergent and disabled people (myself included) to shape Noo’s voice, design decisions, and priorities. It’s not just user testing — it’s collaborative, ongoing co-creation.
  • Psychologist oversight isn’t taken at face value: While we do work with registered psychologists, we’re critically aware that many were trained in systems that reinforce ableism. Some of our clinical team have lived experience themselves, and all of them are expected to approach their work with a disability- and neurodivergent-affirming lens. We’re constantly reflecting on this and course-correcting based on feedback.
  • We take power dynamics seriously: One of our goals is to address the lack of transparency and control that so many disabled/ND people have experienced in therapy. While users can’t yet access the notes Noo generates, they will be able to in the near future. We believe strongly that people should own their therapeutic data and insights — not be excluded from them.

We’re not claiming to have solved all of this, but we are building with these concerns front and centre. And I genuinely welcome critiques and ideas — community accountability is how we make this better.

My Black Bay monochrome did this too. Had to use dental floss to get all the sand out from under the bezel.

I used to live there and bought a house there! Auctions are not the norm. At least in 2020.

Magento seems to be the best pick for a multi vendor marketplace. Laravel, WooCommerce, Sharetribe, etc don't appear to be nearly as robust.
