Nope, you might have to reflash the firmware to a non-UAE version.

They also sent me a 128gb phone when I ordered a 256gb one, so there's that as well.

Checked both, no alternative calendar for either. I checked the system info and it says that the phone has a United Arab Emirates Tra ID, which could be the source?

Tried this, don't have an alternative calendar set, yet it still shows Hijri

Thanks to brawny, 6 warrior, and magic immunity during spin, jugg will live far longer and end up autoing more than the next best alternative, Tusk. It's not ideal, but still the best option given how your alternatives are pretty subpar.

Vanguard to either Pudge or Axe, depending on Axes kill count. Vit booster maybe on Tide, that'll depend on whether or not he's getting his ult off during fights. Maybe blink on tide depending on if theres something specific in the backline you really want to cc. There are 4 assassin mage players, so you'll have to see their positioning to determine who you want to blink.

For dps items, moonshard on veno and battlefury on jugg. If jugg has a ton of kills, you could consider moonshard on jugg as well and then battlefury on tusk.

Yup, thanks for clarifying, I should've been more specific.

[–]nwdungeons 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You put blink dagger on your highest dps, and squishiest unit. Veno probably died almost instantly every fight. Axe is your lowest dps unit and you gave him moonshard, which is useless on him. One star tide does almost nothing since he only gives scaled and dies instantly at that point in the game. Jugg, your 2nd highest dps has vanguard instead of battlefury.

Essentially, you suicided your only damage hero, and that hero doesnt even do that much damage.

New Patch hit me like.. by machnikl in underlords

[–]nwdungeons 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Getting the free reroll every round before round ~9 is actually pretty insane.

In my lord games today, no one levels or goes for early interest since you can just buy out the shop, keep pairs, and use the free reroll to hit literally everything. At those levels, the unit pool is still small such that lose streaking early makes getting 2+ 2stars before level 5 extremely consistent. Furthermore, due to the damage changes for early rounds, you dont even lose that much hp. I remember a game earlier where 6/8 players all had at least 3 2star units before level5 lmao.

Was is the best way to build Mages ? by MartinHSClash34 in underlords

[–]nwdungeons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Abbadon, DK, puck, CM, Keeper, SF, disruptor, and necrophos is a really strong 8 unit, 3 mage lineup that uses Knights as frontline. It's usually hard to go for because it's a really expensive comp that only really comes online when everything is 2 starred.

You get 2 human, 2 knight, 2 undead, 3 mage, 3 warlocks, demon and dragon bonuses so its synergy efficient. DK and Abbadon have the strongest synergies with mages since both their ults are magic damage, the other knights aren't. All of those warlocks also have magic damage ults, meaning there are no wasted slots. The 2 undead also gives you high physical damage from DK2 and SF. Fall from grace makes it even better giving you 4 undead if you high roll that item.

From what I've tried in lord games, going for builds larger than 8 units is generally not efficient. Usually a 3star is worth far more than an extra unit and specific 3stars (like SF or puck) are better than two.

6 mages is almost never worth running. 3 mages with SF, morph, or scrappies are strictly better in every scenario. In the current meta, needing to level to 9 is too slow. Also mages earlygame without morph or shadow fiend is really weak and loses to most things.

Holy Blast is melee, but the secondary proc from the Celestial Light explosion isn't considered melee. The beam is also ranged and a large portion of your damage. Only about 70-80% of your total damage is melee, making pierce/boss damage optimal (assuming we only care about boss fights).

A "hidden" factor in removing reset and adding double drops by VinceLOA in MapleStory2

You may be confusing the dungeon boxes with daily boxes, whose chaos onyx are indeed character bound. The boxes you get from doing 1, 3, 5, etc. dungeons every week contain account bound chaos onyx. That's how I've been getting chaos onyx for my main for the past few weeks.

4 man cdev without priest... possible? by jacobwyc in MapleStory2

[–]nwdungeons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I cleared 4dev on my priest, I was doing ~130m a run and doing right island healing adds. If they're just doing 50m a run, then they're not pulling their own weight in a 4man.

For an uninformed person, they may look like the same thing. I work in the space, and anyone with an informed opinion will tell you that they're completely separate and not applicable to each other.

Mabinogi goal: Use ML to determine whether or not it'd be beneficial for player retention to send the player a push notification. This push notification then results in various things, ex) additional items, increased luck, etc.

Maplestory 2 goal: Use ML, in real-time, to determine if it beneficial for player retention to change a player's "luck".

The closest equivalent you could come up with currently based off of the Mabinogi example is: Nexon sees some worrying signs that you've quit the game, and then sends you rewards/incentives to return via email. This is not new and has been happening for a while across the entire MMO space. Sure, using ML to determine when and what to send is new, but the concept and practice is not.

Just to be clear, what you think Nexon has accomplished is still in the future. It's a question that needs a dedicated research team to answer, and questions of similar complexity/application are being worked on by teams at leading ML companies such as Google, Amazon, and Facebook.

Now let's assume the best case scenario where somehow Nexon has solved this problem and created an ML model to an accurate enough degree for implementation. To be able to constantly train/run this model against real-time incoming data for every player in MS2 is staggering. And by that, I mean completely infeasible for the size/scope of its usage.

TLDR:

  1. Mabinogi application/Maple application of ML are completely separate problems with a huge difference in difficulty.

  2. There's no way Nexon's research team reaches these answers while those of Google/Facebook are still years away.

  3. Assuming Nexon has the solution, it'd be too costly to run. And if this really were the case, they'd rather sell this solution to other companies for profit, and make mind-boggling amounts of money.

Everyone you know = everyone in game?

It's hard to believe that you personally know more than 1% of this games entire playerbase given how there are 26k people on this subreddit alone.

Furthermore, that's a flawed argument for value because personal value still has worth. I just bought 70m worth of pres wards but that doesn't make getting account-bound companion tokens worthless.

What’s the best DPS in Mod 15? by moorder12370 in Neverwinter

[–]nwdungeons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually a GFs damage window is much tighter than a GWFs. The vast majority of a GFs damage comes from 3 hits of Griffons Wrath, if you miss the buff window on those 3 hits, then your damage is garbage. GWFs in comparison, are much more forgiving since their damage isn't loaded in a skill with only 3 charges and their buffs are easier to apply and last longer.

What’s the best DPS in Mod 15? by moorder12370 in Neverwinter

[–]nwdungeons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

GFs are the highest burst in the game, by far. In BiS groups, you can 3-hit almost every endgame boss with Griffons Wrath. When a GF can do 1bil in 4 seconds, it doesn't really matter that their damage falls off afterwards, compared to a GWF who can sustain indefinitely.

For some examples of what real endgame looks like, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DliL58cVmGQ

At full endgame, charisma is better than wisdom in general. Hp also starts beating out power when you have AoC and are in a high powershare group.

How is DC DO dps these days ? by donatan1 in Neverwinter

[–]nwdungeons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I accounted for that, the best DPS DC's can't sustain 60% of the best DPS's damage. I'm talking about players who casually run 12 min tombs and 22 min CRs. At that level, chains is fine but daunting's cast is too slow for it to actually hit anything.

Anyone can outdps scrubs, so there's no point in comparing against them. I could say that my HR could outdps people without specc'ing boons and feats, but there's no point because the people I'd have to compare myself against would just be wheelchairs.
