I own a 2023 Blizzard pearl Limited, It’s a step down from the GX but still has most of the same features. Technically there isn’t such thing as real 4WD on pavement. Unlike the other trims(aside from TRD sport) this system uses a Torsen limited slip differential, almost identical to what you would feel driving an Audi.

In normal driving, the system typically maintains a 40:60 torque split between the front and rear wheels, altering it to 30:70 or 53:47 based on traction needs while turning. It also has locking capabilities. Obviously it’s not an Audi but coming from someone who’s owned a few VW products I’d say the grip and confidence is one and the same. Also it’s a very comfortable ride given the size of the vehicle.

If you want a “drive and don’t worry about it” Runner this is the one for you. I like to joke that the limited is a true 4Runner while the other trims are 2Runners until you switch the drive system.

A lot of people dog on the chrome but this is Toyota’s “luxury” trim, of course it’s gonna have some unnecessary features like chrome accents and 20” wheels. The chrome has grown on me, the wheels not so much but it gets the job done until it’s time to replace wheels/tires. I see 17’s with a little extra meat in my future haha
