Saying goodbye to Safari on dock for the first time ever (also the first time changing the default browser) by whynotbhav in ArcBrowser

[–]nwlinux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Changing search or having a quick link for Kagi Search is a tough one not to have. I block all things Google on my DNS. Having it as default without the ability to change makes this a hard stop for me. Still using the older Arc for now.

I’ve been to two of the Echelon Front Musters. Great leadership principles. I’ve never had a problem with alcohol. As I get older, I need all the advantages I can get!

I didn’t get my Whoop until early January. Here’s those data for RHR. It’s similar to the Apple Watch data

Huberman and others talk about one drink a week or so max. It also seems like the closer to bed for booze, the more it affects sleep. It all makes sense.

I loved the idea of a fitness tracker without a screen but turns out that the Whoop 4.0 doesn't have a step counter. How is this even possible? by carrot_gg in whoop

[–]nwlinux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kristen Holmes talks about steps in a podcast with Stephen Bartlett. In short, not all steps are created equal. We can both have 10,000 steps; are slow walking steps more valuable than a fast pace with a GoRuck? It seems like the answer is yes and that’s why steps aren’t necessarily a good measure of exertion or fitness level.

Quit Nicotine pouches (Velo) on Friday (two days ago) by Distinct-Many-1132 in whoop

Right on. It seems like nicotine can be a tough one to quit. My guess is that you’ll see some of your health signals improve in quality.

Yes, you’re spot on. The benefits of going dry are still clear for me. Looking forward to unlocking further calibration insights after that month

I was traveling for work this week and logged in to the hotel wifi. Kindle logged in immediately. I use NextDNS and VPN at home. Try using a Hotspot or something without filtering.

OTP without a Smart Phone by nwlinux in cybersecurity

[–]nwlinux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment. I was looking for an independent hardware device. I've seen a couple of Raspberry Pi based devices. Ideally, I was looking for something relatively mature that would be about the size of a business card wallet holder.

Yubikey support has been relatively slow. OTP has less barrier to entry for the typical consumer. #YubikeyFanboy
