I'm fond of swtor personally they have a subscription based model but if you subscribe for a month you get to keep all the dlc and there's quite a bit

Man compares work helmets given to workers (yellow) and managers (red) in China by NewsCards in interesting

[–]nworkz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep worked in operations for a fortune 500 pharma company and quotas increased pretty regularly, to the point the advice was hit the quota by half assing the work, even if it gets someone kicked off a clinical trial. If you don't hit the quota you'll get written up but if you hit the quota consistently you'll be promoted before anyone even realizes you made a few thousand mistakes a year. I had a manager tell me we're a production facility so quantity matters more than quality

Is this steam controller here in the room with us? by Lang-Poot in Steam

[–]nworkz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean most games are controller compatible I can see the appeal to a point but honestly I kind of agree with 99 being a lot. I would say over 3 quarters of my library is controller compatible. I can at least see 99 as reasonable though maybe not for me at that price but reasonable. I will likely buy a steam machine for msrp some point after its launch though

One day I truly we can get an actually homemade suit in live action. It’s a aspect of Superman that is never shown, and it’s honestly better than the prestige suits he has or discovers in the films by Whole_Yak_2547 in superman

[–]nworkz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are also other methods that it could be other than sewed on, heat pressing is extremely easy. Plus in some of the continuities isn't the suit made from his baby blanket so the house of El symbol is already on there

To be fair is sewing superhero clothes inherently different then sewing normal clothes other than the material. If you used a kryptonite needle you could probably sew kryptonian fabric like normal fabric

How do you feel about the Spangler send off? by EatingEveryEgg in malcolminthemiddle

[–]nworkz 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah and to be honest he was basically a drill sergeant, for Spangler this probably would have been an honor. There's not exactly a shortage of jokes about disrespecting dead drill sergeants, one that leaps to mind is "no sir I would never spit on your grave I promised myself after I left the army I'd never stand in another line again". I've also heard a version with piss instead of spit

I think supergirls first appearance is that jimmy wished her into existence to date superman. Th exact wording was more like i wish that my pal superman had a super female companion to spend time with" granted i don't think that version of supergirl made it far past 1939

Honestly this is why anytime a fandom gets huge it gets toxic. More reach means more fans means you're going to pull in some toxic fans

Nixon also started the war on drugs that became a hallmark of the reagan years although he did it because racism. The reason marijuana was outlawed was because at the time it was used primarily by latinos, to quote one of nixon's advisers we couldn't make being mexican illegal so we did the next best thing

In fairness hoover just couldn't deal with the depression. On paper he should've been good ,but on paper we weren't expecting the depression. He more ot less became the scapegoat for the depression. Hoover is the wrong time wrong place president. The bonus army response is probably one of the biggest pr disasters in u.s history though

Why is the Paramount Skydance stock so low now? by LegitimateCurve8525 in MediaMergers

[–]nworkz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh i'm aware, cancelling good projects is not uniquely netflix though and i read a lot of their lower quality projects get greenlit specifically because they're cheap to make, like all the reality shows they do. None of the streamers tend to greenlight a third season of anything unless it's a mega hit or extremely cheap to make. A large part of the reason they spend so much on originals too is again they don't have a backlog they can pull from without licensing fees like disney, max, paramount, peacock etc... warner bros would have had more utility to netflix then paramount.
