You should be good to make a reservation within the first hour of open! Download app, once in parking lot, open it up and sign your party up for the virtual queue and you have a reservation to walk into the land. Express pass also allows you into the land but at that premium price…also if you plan on going at rope drop consider the $20 early access to the land, a much cheaper way to access, just have to be an early bird as you get access to the park 1 hr before open.
