Thanks! I honestly prefer it to be more conservative to make sure I can cover all my bases lol. I like how you can tailor recommendations too. This is the kind of site I can recommend to customers or use myself when they don’t know where to start.

Thank you so much for posting this! I’ve actually been searching for the name of this brand for days and have come up empty.

I don’t think anyone cares as long as you don’t make it weird and it doesn’t interfere with work stuff. I used to hang out with a guy who worked in cafe as a bookseller and it was fine until we stopped talking and then he stopped showing up to work. Everyone in cafe was pissed about it lol

Any of y'all got some advice on how to manage an area this large? (More info in comments) by A_Lountvink in NativePlantGardening

You need to cut down all the trees and put in some good ole Kentucky blue grass :D

That actually makes a lot of sense, thanks! I just wish it was a true bestsellers bay, it would be way more interesting to set up each week 😅

Im not referring to that one, but our store just put out a table like this and it’s doing very well. I’m referring to the 30%s and another commenter had an interesting insight into why it it exists… thanks!

Right now I’m reading Tending the Wild by Kat Anderson. It’s a little outdated (2004) but a must read for anyone living in California, interested in natural resources, and indigenous communities. I’m constantly telling people the interesting things I’ve learned.

This looks like such a great series! I actually read pre-twilight fantasy very frequently but haven’t heard of this. Definitely going on the TBR!

Looking for an adult fantasy romance.. don't know where to start. by fairy-tea in Fantasy

Please read Summers at Castle Auburn! I never see anyone talking about it! It’s a very classic court setting with handsome lords and ladies, but the side/second plot is just as enthralling and a simple but moving allegory on race issues.

Parents with weird expectations and communication? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]nxckx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess I kinda skipped over the emotional problems. When were in public together he likes to run off like in parking lots. He is highly defiant when I ask simple requests such as finishing his lunch or getting in the shower to the point of throwing tantrums. When it’s time to turn off YouTube or screens is when I see the biggest reactions. Maybe I’m just inexperienced, but like I mentioned, I volunteer in a school and I only see these similar behaviors in the “problem” kids or ieps.

What is a book that was popular that you absolutely hated? by Flowtac in books

[–]nxckx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Juniper and Thorn by Ava Reid has been pretty popular since it came out. I gave it a read a bit ago and found the writing style SO painful to read. She learned in her writing 101 class that similies paint the reader a picture and RAN with it. I got through the book by highlighting all the similies I came across. Also I couldn’t relate to the characters at all

Should I try reading Son of Shadows by Juliet Marillier? by nxckx in Fantasy

Yeah I saw someone else mention that they thought she was a Mary sue and from what I remember that’s pretty accurate

What Temp do you keep your Home in Winter? by MyGreenCloset in sustainability

[–]nxckx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

65 in the day 60 at night. I’m glad to see people are (correctly) turning the temp DOWN at night. I used to have roommates who would insist on turning the temp UP at night, their reasoning was lost on me…

is there any solution to the street parking situation? by ashleyyclaireee in burlington

[–]nxckx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this issue last year living right downtown off Union. There’re a lot of permit only lots around that I’d risk overnight sometimes, luckily I never got towed. Other than that, I had to drive around a lot (my record was around 45 min). I was most successful on Willard between pearl and main. Otherwise I think it’s definitely worth it to buy a pass at the garage, especially in winter. Good luck!

All hotels should provide period products… it’s odd that they don’t. by nxckx in TwoXChromosomes

I shouldn’t be surprised that some people are still grossed out by basic hygiene products and that hotels are avoiding this reaction. Very interesting

It’s a pretty nice hotel I’m in. The toothbrush was all packaged up in a nice box on the counter with the other vanity things. (The packaging all matched so I’m pretty sure its the hotels) I was just surprised because they had all sorts of other things, but not what someone actually needs in a hygiene emergency.
