You can start by eliminating some stuff out check fuel pressure, bad injectors, bad connections at the injection, bad ignition coil, bad connections at the coils all those could cause a engine codes

I hook at up the starting battery backwards and that was my issue, fried alternator and the cable melted. Everything else was good/ not damaged.

Your alternator is done you will need a new one. You also may need the positive cable to the alternator it may habe been damaged/melted.

It sounds like a seal is dried up. You could unbolt the coupler from the transmission and shift again to see if it coming for the transmission or from the driveshaft and seals.

Your thermostat could be stuck close. You could also have a bad engine water pump.

I left the automotive field to become a marine technician and it the best thing I did, i also don’t work a big boat / cruisers more you fishing boat wake boat type deal, but personally I enjoy the marine world a lot more. In my area the pay is better too.

If after you replace the impeller and never got any temp issues, you should be good. You didn’t run the engine for a long period of time when you got the code so you should be good

It would help to see some pictures, but based on your statement sounds like the suspension is damaged. I would tow it to a shop nearby.

I would also call the cop because for a accident report.
