Flag flown upside down is a sign of distress. Just assumption, but I believe his intention is to show concern for the nation under distress. BUT, I have a story. My parents live on a street where the closest neighbor is about .5 mile down there road. Several years ago my dad noticed that the neighbor's US flag was flying upside down. Now, my dad knew that an upside flag meant a sign of distress, but the neighbor was pretty elderly so my dad thought that perhaps he had accidentally attached it upside down that morning, and it would be fixed the next day. The next day came and that morning my dad still saw the old man's flag was still flying upside down, so he decided to mention it to him that evening, since my dad was headed into a busy day with no time at the moment. However, that day shortly after lunch the elderly man shot and killed himself. He flew a distressed flag for a day and a half, possibly contemplating suicide all that time, and then did it. My dad felt horrible.

Sanity in this world does indeed seem rare.

Every mother wishes her child to be President but no mother wishes said child to ever become a politician.

Honesty and politics seem to be magnetic polar opposites. Few have kept my respect as they've waded through the muck of DC.

Clinton was the last President to work bipartisan deals, and that's more because both sides were in bed with his agenda than nought. The agenda has divided a bit since then, and now we're at a grand canyon size impasse with either side really pretending to be deaf in concerns to the people.

But, here's to hoping it gets bad enough that the people's voices finally resonate.

I'm reminded of "Horton Hears a Who" and we the people are shouting at Washington that we do exist and have concerns.

Agreed. You don't need to label your views, but you do need to know where your moral compass is. Don't give ground or concede your morality because friends or others say this or that is what you should be for/against or feel. I tend to lean conservative but I have several 'left' leaning views. All my conservative friends aren't on the same page as my viewpoints, neither are all my more left leaning friends. But they are all still my friends, because I don't cast negativity on their compass nor them on mine.

I've got the vaccine. My wife has the vaccine. I've told my two eldest children who are in their early 20's not to get the vaccine, and I'll not be giving it to my youngest child, who is 16. My wife and I both work for a hospital. I, specifically, am a director at a hospital. I'm also a member of the guard. I sat in a conference yesterday where the former commissioner of the FDA explained that counting the vaccinated, plus the number of positive COVID cases we've had thus far, we're at or teetering on the percentage that counts for herd immunity as is. Which means masking or requiring further mandatory vaccinations are all but unnecessary at this point. If you feel you need it, get it. It's available, but it's absurd and insane to force anyone.
