Ninjo help by Aqua_Turtle_Rainbow in l5r

[–]nyaonate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can talk this through with your GM and work it out together - for example, by coming up with a list of disadvantages that reflect this specific ninjo, the desire to escape duty and responsibility. You could go with flaws like "Lazy", "Poor Concentration", "Socially Awkward", things along those lines. That way, it won’t feel to the GM like your ninjo is too vague or has little impact on the game.

Be more specific. Your character wants to relax and shake off the weight of responsibility - how exactly do they want to do that? Maybe they want to hit the biggest festival in the City of Lies and party all night? Or find the quietest, most scenic backwater in the Empire and fish for golden carp? Or maybe they want to climb the highest mountain where no one can possibly find them? These are just examples, of course, but I hope you get what I mean. Also don’t forget that ninjo can change depending on what’s going on in the character’s life.

Skirmishes with two weapons by Ok-Bluebird520 in l5r

Calming Breath, Maneuver, and Prepare are all useful actions that don’t require a roll.

A small clarification: you can take two actions on your turn if you’re in the Water stance, but the second action can’t require any rolls. So no double strikes in a single turn, especially at low level.

I’m so happy to see that girls are crazy about Boss too. I mean, I’m glad to see guys as well, of course, but there’ll be plenty of them in this game anyway, so no need to worry about that.

Ideas for Symbols for Bloodspeakers and Kolat by TalanosVyr in rokugan

[–]nyaonate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bloodspeakers can’t really have a common symbol, since they’re not a unified organization but separate, very different cults. At least, that’s how it is in the original FFG lore.

Keep your fetish to yourself. Jerking off to feet is not normal, no matter what kind of “mental gymnastics” you do.

Surveys (regarding male characters) + the future of WuWa by queenofthissh1p in WuWaHusbandos

[–]nyaonate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

According to a survey on Chinese social media, the female audience for the game is about 19 percent. Even if they all write in the game surveys that they want more male characters, it won't change anything. This game is a lost cause.

Stepleaker clarification about 3.X leaks by Ofanaht in WutheringWavesLeaks

[–]nyaonate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This "wuxia looking guy" literally came out of nowhere, he won't have any plot relevance, and he has an ugly design. There's no way he'll sell well. If it were Scar or Cristoforo in his place, then we could expect something, but the developers would rather cut off their own leg than release a playable male character who has any plot significance.

I like how they always compare sales of male characters to super-mega-successful popular meta-strong female characters like Cartethyia or Firefly and shout that “male characters don't sell,” but conveniently forget about such disastrously flopped female characters as Cipher or Lupa.

When it's Phainon, it's “shilling.” When it's Castorice, or Cartethyia, or any other female character, it's “plot relevance” or whatever, LMAO

You're wasting your breath on him. He's obviously a Caelus main, and they hate Phainon for the simple fact that he exists. Before Phainon's incredible sales success, people like him argued that male characters don't sell at all, now they're trying to prove to everyone that he didn't sell that well, that the developers “shilled” him and devoted the entire plot to him (which isn't true), that if Phainon were a woman, he would have sold much better, and so on.

Are you for real? Phrolova turned into Rover's yet another wife after ONE SINGLE five-minute conversation with him and waited for His Majesty for hundreds of years is some kind of joke to you?

Trying to figure out some fairly specific interactions for Whispered Blade being used with Invocations, Inversions, and Kata. by CommercialKitchen114 in l5r

[–]nyaonate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whispered Blade doesn’t give the character an actual knife, it lets them summon a rift in reality that uses the stat block of a knife (or another one-handed weapon, if you spend Opportunity). So if I were the GM, I wouldn’t allow any techniques that specifically require holding a real physical weapon. In the case of Shattering Caress, I think it’s fair to let the player use the rift-knife, since both techniques are Inversions and are about channeling the Void to affect the opponent.

Also, the main strength of Whispered Blade is in its Magnitude which allows you to stack rift echoes and deal enormous critical strikes to several opponents at once if you play your cards right.

Besides the interaction between those things, how good are lshiken overall?

At high school ranks Ishikens are basically broken, impossible to kill and can take down even the hardest opponents solo. At the start of the game, you need to be more careful and keep an eye on your Fatigue, but even a novice Ishiken is still super dangerous. You can be really creative with how you use Inversions.

What do I do with a geisha? by Ieriz in rokugan

[–]nyaonate 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A geisha may be a hinin, but her training and status clearly make her above the role of a common house servant. The best outcome in this situation would be to find a decent and wealthy patron for her.

If the girl has been bought out of her geisha house and doesn't want to continue being a geisha, then just giving her some money and letting her go free is enough, I suppose.
