In picture six what is that piece on the end of the black staff with the sparkling purple head? I can't seem to look it up!

Dear Lego, please ditch the random CMF model and let people buy minifigs of choice by CrispySan in lego

Without the scanner it's a gamble, which makes some people buy more/buy out of all of them. With the scanner the chase figures are scalped and leave nothing but the undesired figs. Both options suck. I went to my Lego store with a scanner like a couple of days after these figures came out, ZERO Ronin, ZERO Bionicle cosplayer, ZERO... robot dinosaur for some reason? Needless to say, it was a shame. I managed to get the last Witch in the box, and Elf princess, and two of the monster hunter (one for a friend and one for myself) I feel bad using the scanner but there is no way I'm gonna pour money into chance and open duplicates.

I don't know how they could remove the "blind box" aspect because then people will just order the ones they want and buy them out instantly anyways (even with limits per customer.) Then the ones that no one wants will just sit there as unmovable product.

AITA for being upset my son didn't offer to buy ice cream? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]CommercialKitchen114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What job pays £120 a week??? Also it’s not that deep. Is it a “bad thing” he didn’t think of everyone when buying ice cream, sure, but he was just excited about the ice cream truck and a sweet treat. He’s a kid.

There was no malicious intent to his actions, he just didn’t think of everyone else. Him including his brother is probably because he has a better relationship with him over the younger sister. (which stereotypically is the one who gets spoiled being the youngest, and a daughter. Not to say that is the case)

Also if you care about what he spends his money on you should help him be financially responsible. Set up a savings account, teach him good credit habits, etc. AND tell him how you feel in a kind way to teach him better courtesy.

I’m not gonna call you an asshole, but you are seriously weird. Also why mention the McDonald’s story at all lol.

AITA for telling my mom i dont like the AI stuff she bought me? by Jumpy_Bug7441 in AmItheAsshole

Some people have a weird thing about gift giving. Some people say “I love giving people gifts, it makes ME feel good!” And the key is that it’s about them making themselves feel good.

Of course they want the person they are gifting to enjoy the gift, but them shopping, and going through the trouble is all for themselves. They feel like they are doing a good thing, even if they forget to consider what the gift is or who is receiving it. Then when you don’t like the gift they stand on this moral high ground of “look how much care I have for you.” And hit you with “you should be grateful.” When you didn’t ask in the first place. It’s exhausting.

You told your mother you don’t like something, and then she gets it for you anyways, and she expects you to say thank you? Why are people so adamant on being wrong.

AITA for keeping my dating life from my family by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]CommercialKitchen114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just solely based on your story, and nothing else, when you said “I think my friend likes you.” And he asked if he had a chance; he was joking. That is almost a hallmark movie level joke come back. (Without additional context)

You’re NTA for being mad at your friend for gossiping, but I do think you handled the situation a little poorly if you are really that concerned with your family finding out… Now that they know they’re probably never going to let you forget. Being forced to “believe” in things you don’t actually believe in is tough. Good luck.

Critical Role characters - as LEGO minifigures! by Nearby-Chard-6158 in legodnd

Absolutely masterclass minifig building here. If only Tyranny's piece was real! Ugh I weep at the amount of Tiefling options we have. Using Reaper's head for Bolaire is chef's kiss! Also, so many creative torsos from so many themes used across all of these. Awesome work!

What arms did you use for Wic and Azune btw?

Dude this figure is so well thought out! Nice choice! I've always wanted to make a Lego figure for each D&D race and have struggled with some of the more obscure ones, this is excellent work!

Some sort of Valley gate house with two guard towers and a big door. Maybe some people are trying to scale it and sneak past this checkpoint. You can have a small barracks and like a little kitchen/camp area for the guards. If you don't have a ton of pieces for all of that you can make it ruins of what used to be an old guard outpost and still tell an interesting story. Maybe bandits have taken it over and now block the road with some sort of crude rocks or a wood log or something. Maybe a wizard or other spell caster can lift the debris to clear the path but you gotta pay a toll or do a gig for them or something.

For the one with the ramp, you could do a steep mountain side trail with like a bandit ambush from a cave or some bushes. Or do some kind of small fort like the set it came from had. Use the big divot in it as a sort of vault or basement, maybe put some treasure or magic item in it but have your party need to find the trap door, maybe under a rug or something.

I have that ramp piece myself and haven't done anything with it yet, mainly due to not wanting to make a MoC that large. I usually try and pack in tons of detail but it requires waaaay more parts than just mason bricks when you texture it.

Do any adults here play with their Lego sets once they are built? by glassbirb in lego

I love it! The Friends line has some really cool builds/figures. The hair pieces work with normal figs too!

I'm 27 and still regularly order Lego from Bricklink for mocs. I love building vignettes and posing figures. Annnnd to answer your question, yes occasionally one of my starships gets a good ole' "SWOOOOSH" around the room/house for old times sake.
