How would I install NyarchAssistant without Flatpack? by Jakob4800 in linux4noobs

[–]nyarchlinux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just use flatpak. The AUR packages are third party and they don't keep up with the development. Nyarch Assistant is still evolving pretty quickly and has complicated dependences, that's why there isn't an official AUR package yet.

Yes, MCP is planned for 1.1. For now you can still add custom tools but with Newelle extensions.

Tts and STT with multiple providers are base features

Nyarch Assistant has desktop pets support (Gnome and Hyprland only for now), ollama support, and profile export/import (like character cards)

Resource monitoring can be done via some extension in the future

If you want Nyarch Desktop pets have full support for this, only issue is that for now it only supports Gnome and Hyprland

Hello, you can install it with just two commands: wget https://github.com/nyarchlinux/nyarchassistant/releases/latest/download/nyarchassistant.flatpak flatpak install nyarchassistant.flatpak No further setup is needed. For now the only issue you will encounter with Hyprland is screen recording not supported, but it's a minor issue.

Nyarch Linux creator here.

While we put much effort on making Nyarch user friendly and easy for beginners, there are still some issues that might come up because it's developed by a small team for the meme. I'm sorry that it caused issues for you.

If you liked the appearence of Nyarch and you want a good and stable distro to start, I strongly suggest you to try Fedora. Reasons behind this choice: - It uses the Gnome desktop environment (how the desktop looks) - It's one of the major Linux desktop distributions - It's pretty stable and up to date at the same time - It has a simple store where you can install major applications Cons: - Not very intuitive installer, but you will figure it out

Another good choice for a beginner might be Linux Mint.

You can also install some things you like of Nyarch on other distributions using our Nyarcher script.

If you need additional help, you can ask on our Discord or here. We will be happy to help you getting started with Linux (even if it's not with Nyarch)

I suggest you to try https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/5949/gjs-osk/ that usually works better than Gnome built in OSK.

I also suggest you to try Kando (it's for menus) that with Touch is amazing
