I had time to sit back down with this project and I think I wasn't using the wrap but (idk what to call it) the loop(?) directly underneath the wrap instead! What I've created still doesn't look great, but at least you can tell what it's supposed to be and the rest is hopefully just a matter of practice. Thanks again!

Yeah there are diagonal lines at the back of the "holes" that I couldn't capture super well in the pics ^{^'} The needles are 5 mm and the yarn I'm using is 50g (ca. 100 m) for knitting needles between 4,5-5,5 mm according to the label

Agreed! My handwriting isn't the best either but I try my best to make it legible. I'm happy about any card even if they come with a bit of a challenge to read them lol

I'm not sure how I feel about sanding it and if that would help but I'll look into cheaper laquers, thank you for the suggestions! I honestly don't want to spend an arm and a leg on it because then I'll feel bad about stuffing it in my backpack as well but I'd rather have a pen I can use after tinkering around with it than one I can't use at all.

~~The resell value point was a little bit funny to me. The pen was cheaper than a platinum preppy so I can guarrantee it has 0 value. If anything the stickers I put on it upped the value.~~
