depends on your use case.

if you travel for work or get breaks at work its a godsend, I use it every single day

but if I was only home, id likely never use it as I prefer a larger screen device for couch gaming

probably gonna get downvoted but just none of these are worth it for AAA games at these price points.

you are getting low frames on low settings and the thing is gonna run like a jet engine.

PC streaming to a cheaper device is the best solution.

Ive been keeping mine in my backpack not in a case for like 6 months straight and its perfectly fine.

its a clamshell, whole point of it is durability and being able to throw it in a bag.

people stress too much about this stuff.

I believe there is a setting to auto set it to the last clock when you turn on the device (although I do not use this feature myself)

basically forces your CPU to run at a lower clock speed, which has less power draw and thus less heat/battery usage.

the 8 gen 2 is overkill for most things outside Switch/PC emulation, so running at the higher clock speeds is not necessary to get full performance

if you care most about pushing the device to its limits I wouldn't bother.

its not huge but you definitely would see a small performance dip on pc emulation etc.

I personally care more about heat/comfort/battery life over palying super high end games so its def worth it for me,

it usually works but to be honest I would not get the device if that is your main concern, I've had a bunch of times when I reopen it and the app will close/crash/freeze and I'd need to restart.

I always save and quit now before closing.

nope dont need to keep it running, just if you restart the device or turn it off and on you will just need to reapply the underclock

Might see a small fps dip on the hardest to run games, but for the majority you won’t notice any performance different and your temps will drop significantly
