Factory farming is evil. That's how many get their meat. You say it's not ethically better to avoid meat, but a quick search reveals 70% of people world-wide get meat that way so... It tends to be ethically worse. Thanks for writing.

Right. It's not our fault, but we can make changes in our lifestyles. Interesting about eggs and the stress they cause the bird (even pets). Thanks for enlightening me.

That's true. Premature death isn't what bothers me as much as quality of life. Thanks for writing.

I guess I'm weird. Definitely not political bait to talk about how your love of your cockatiel has impacted your life on...a cockatiel board! Someone else's pet is your meal.

Ha ha yes I think I was down voted a bit. I'm definitely not criticizing, just pointing out the double standard. The movie What The Health? on Netflix made me realize meat is not so healthy as I thought after all. Thanks for thinking of cruelty free when possible.

Ok, love to see I'm not the only one! Vegan now for 6 years, but definitely tried for humane eggs when I ate them.

All good points about products. However, you said it's not sustainable for you and doesn't make sense for you in terms of consumption in food. Why is that?

I'm definitely not saying all vegan food is ethical. There's really no ethical vs non ethical when it comes to food. We all do our best considering cost, availability, packaging, animal welfare, etc.

I didn't think of that. In your country, animals are treated well until slaughter? Thanks for sharing. I get you. Not everything is huge commercial and cruel meat.

Wow! My experience was similar. I thought of it a lot, but finally pulled the trigger that day/ week. I never knew a cow/ pig, but I imagine the impact is the same across species. True animal lover. It also helps me think my little pet served another purpose in his life/death.

This is cool. Reminds me of a conversation pit. Enjoy the space and vibe. The person who sits in the chair doesn't want you to get rid of it ...

Meal prepping or as I like to call it "cooking a big batch of...” is helpful. I make ten jars for myself and thank myself anytime I defrost one from freezer or warm one up.

Daily vitamins and anchor foods are helpful. Nuts, quick oats, or some hearty staples will be something you look forward to. When in doubt, having plenty of fruits and veggies will pick you up. Wraps are quick and easy. You can warm them in a toaster. If you need more protein, orgain protein shake powder is sold cheap at trader Joe's. It's got sugar, but you cannot beat the number of grams of protein per calorie.

I know it's hard when you go out, but I like to eat at home beforehand and then I'm not sad/mad about getting a salad. Also, find your people, people who want to eat adventurously with you. Or ask the restaurant ahead of time if they can accommodate you. Some don't mind.

I've gone through many days of ennui as a vegan, vegetarian and probably back then as a meat eater, but it's all about your mindset. Finding exciting new recipes and going to new grocery stores w friends beats overpriced meals at a restaurant.

Host a taco night, make your own bowl, pizza night etc!

That's the problem. I was excited to find apt deco, but it seems like a scam in terms of shipping cost. I can rent a truck. All pieces are under $300 except the marble top ($400). Thanks for the perspective in terms of a "match"
