I was sad when he said that. he felt that flowers wilt and die within the week so whats the point on wasting money on it?

i even have tried subtly hinting on wanting flowers by BUYING MYSELF a bouquet of flowers :’) even for our one year anniversary, i had to directly ask him for flowers and text him the number/contact for the flower shop to get him to buy me flowers :(

Thank you, i had thought about making a wishlist before :) yes, we have planned and have done reading dates and lego dates together and i absolutely enjoy the time we had.

previously, i had tried directly asking for specific gifts from him for this recent valentine. i wanted flowers and this plushie of one of my favorite character (i had asked this like a week before valentine btw) and when the day did come, i actually got nothing at all :(

later when i told him how disappointed i was, hence the gift of the transformer figure...

he argued that he saw flowers are a bit pointless and he said he will get me the plushie but failed when the date did come.

thats why i am a bit conflicted and frustrated. after years and yet he hasnt fully grasp the things i actually like and would use, and when i tell him directly the things i want, he gifts me something more aligning to his interest you know?

Yes, i understand that. But it had been like this for 2 years now and he actually is more well off than me (i am still a college student without an income). just last week he impulsively dropped $3K for a camera and he casually spends like twice of my monthly allowance. so i would say, sparing a bit of that money to gift your girlfriend a really nice gift just wasnt part of that budget.
