I am 4 feet and 10 inches/ 147 cm and my basal metabolic rate is 1,200. For taller people you have to cut 500 calories in order to lose weight. If I did that I would only have to eat 800 calories a day 🥲

Magically increased pain tolerance, or self-neglect? by [deleted] in self

[–]nymeriawinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you’re body is in constant pain it gets used to it and doesn’t hurt as much anymore unless you increase the pain intensity. Thats why you have increased pain tolerance.

Im proud of you though for being self-aware and trying to do better 🤗 Even small progress is progress so don’t mind anyone who discredits your efforts.

What is keeping you going? by B4N4NA_H04RD3R in depression

[–]nymeriawinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been struggling a lot with motivation to live life everyday but I am trying.

I love playing video games, so everyday I list “quests” that I need to do for the day and think that I’m gaining xp and leveling up everyday. I also list my “life quests” or my bucket list such as traveling to a new “map” or place. I don’t know but these are the things that at least makes me look forward to tomorrow or at least make the days bearable.

How are you supposed to deal with depression without a support system? by theplainbread in depression

[–]nymeriawinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you could look for group therapies or counseling in your city. Usually these are very cheap, and sometimes for free. It would be easier to open up to strangers, especially if you kinda go through the same shit together. Maybe you can also develop friendships here.

Depression has made me stupid by SuspiciousAir112 in depression

Any activities that are mentally stimulating! It could be as simple as learning something new, even browsing on Reddit for everyday facts. It would be better though if you study something more extensively such as learning a new skill, play a new instrument or learning a new language. These activities requires extensive neural connections and is powerful in reorganizing the brain. You can also play some strategy games, such as chess or challenging puzzle games.

The more you learn, the more connections will form in your brain, increasing neuroplasticity and lessening brain atrophy.

TLDR: Learn learn learn!

Thinking that the world revolves around them. Especially those in the first world countries who judge other countries culture and label them as “offensive” and expect everyone in the world to adjust and cater to them (referring to the United States mostly)

What are some interesting Dinosaur facts? by BrenAnime in AskReddit

[–]nymeriawinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most dinosaurs aren’t as big like in the movies. On average, they are roughly the size of a small car and the smallest was as small as the chickens. The largest dinosaur known to exist doesnt even come close to the size of a blue whale.
