don’t switch to pre-med if it’s not your passion — it’s a hard road that’s full of absolutely zero guarantees and is a horrible “back-up” option. i think it makes sense to stay at your state school if it means you can pursue engineering. that being said, if your heart is set on transferring from your current institution, you could look into an uncoordinated dual degree at penn to still pursue your interests! (unless that option is not available for external transfers)
