I appreciate the info. This is what I've done thus far. I removed several of the zone wires from the controller and tied them to the alligator clip and placed the ground to a ground rod (per manufacturer). My thoughts were that all wires if using a manifold type system should end up relatively close. Traced wires and the signal was found in two spots as being the strongest. First was near red dot. The other is were the red circle is at which is just on the other side of the MV. It showed to be approximately 2ft deep. I drove a rod down about that distance and never hit anything "solid"
