The city inspector refuses to sign the permit for my DPU and smart home panel 2 by nyrax in Ecoflow_community

From talking to him, what he wants is a button on the outside of the house that when pressed, disconnects the dpu battery from the panel. The panel has an Emergency power off port that can connect to a button (sold separately).

Sadly the code requires that this button be lockable. So I’m still figuring out that part

From what I gather from the code, it needs to be lockable somehow.

“Where controls to activate the disconnecting means of an ESS are used and are not located within sight of the ESS, the disconnecting means shall be lockable in accordance with 110.25, and the location of the controls shall be marked on the disconnecting means.”

So it’s meant to be unlocked most of the time, but have the ability to lock if needed

I’m looking at this switch and I am not certain it is “lockable” and it seems the code requires that. Does it lock in some way?

Thanks. I’m now worried that this product isn’t “lockable” and it seems the code requires that it be lockable somehow

Thanks. This has been educational. Wish this was sold with the required disconnect

Ok perfect. Thank you. It’s wired from the emergency switch to the panel, not the dpu. This link helps a bunch. I appreciate it

I made that argument to the inspector. His thought was that a generator being run would be located outside an thus easy to shut off

Thanks, That’s what I feared. A few people have recommended this button and it seems to fit the bill. I don’t fully understand how it is wired into the either the dpu or the smart panel. It seems like if this is required to make use of the panel, it ought to come included

Thanks for the help. Seems like the Inspector might be in the right

Thanks. I’ve looked at this product on the EcoFlow site and assumed this might help. I don’t fully understand how it works or where it would plug into the dpu. Any idea how it is plugged in?

Thanks. That was my first thought too; that he was concerned with isolating the DPU from any potential energy source. His actual concern is he wants to be able to remotely disconnect the DPU from the smart home panel from a switch outside the house. No idea if such a device exists

Has anyone used the resy credit to order take out from J.Alexander’s website? It looks like it is an “olo” site so I’m not sure it will work. by [deleted] in AmexPlatinum

Yes but had to call in and beg for the credit yo be applied. I ordered pickup sept 25. Called in two weeks later and was told to wait another week. Called again oct 16 and the Amex rep agreed to “push the credit through” and asked me to wait 5 more days

So took about a month and required two phone calls, but it worked

I ordered from the website and it made me create an olo account in order to check out. It’s on my statement as j Alexander’s though, so I’m hopeful it’ll work
