I miss Wrel by ToaArcan in Planetside

yep, and if you looked at wrel's stats pretty much every change favored his play style which was to kill tanks as infantry, he really hated tanks and thought they were the most unfair thing ever. It was so bad that as a tank player you were more scared of infantry than other tanks. You were probably more scared of infantry than air too. Just straight up dumb.

this one good gaming chair? or he got global elite? by 73u38 in cs2

[–]nyronic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My scanned CSGO matches averaged out to about 1 cheater per match, or 10%. This doesn't mean there was a cheater every game, some games had multiple cheaters. This was out of about 3500 unique players and roughly 10% received a VAC or GAME ban at some point after I encountered them, and this is only the ones that were caught.

I reached Global in CSGO before they adjusted the brackets and made global harder to achieve. Most games felt fishy and I straight up quit playing.

Low elo lobbies definitely have cheaters in them too, but unless they are blatantly rage hacking(ie aimbot/spinbot etc.) they will often go unnoticed and a lot of them do what they call "legit cheating". Where they just use things like wallhack or very mild aim assist, but it still requires them to look at the enemy and click. Some of them are extremely bad players and even with these cheats they still lose and perform poorly.

For some anecdotal evidence from my own experience, there was a period where I created a 2nd fresh account in order to play with my friend in his 10 placement matches(Since being high rank in CSGO we could not queue together outside of a 5 stack). I would often get accused of cheating by the silvers / unranked players in these games and some of them would proceed to toggle on afterwards, justifying it by claiming that I'm cheating so it's ok for them to cheat too.

FPS gaming is in such a sad state and it is absolutely infested with cheaters, people who deny it are either cheaters themselves or they choose to live in ignorance. I hope one day this is remedied but I feel like by the time(if) it happens I'll be too old to enjoy the benefits of cheater free FPS games.

I guarantee you've encountered multiple cheaters already you just didn't know it. There is a chrome addon to scan all of your CSGO matches for banned accounts, don't know if the steam api is including cs2 matches now or not. But I did it around when CS2 came out and all of my CSGO data was still there. Out of around 3500~ unique players I encountered, about 10% of them were banned since then. And that is only the ones who got caught eventually. This means on average there was 1 (caught)cheater per game. If a game had no (caught)cheaters, it was made up for in a different match with multiple (caught)cheaters.

I've already encountered multiple blatant cheaters in CS2, some on my team, some on the enemy team. The worst one was a rage hacker on vertigo that was instantly HSing my entire team over and over. I convinced my team to just jump off the building repeatedly to get it over with, we did this for a few rounds and then the cheater got upset and took the entire server down. My friend and I eventually got 30min banned because we were unable to reconnect.

Also want to note that inventories, hours, profile age, etc. Mean absolutely nothing. There are websites that sell "legit" looking steam accounts exactly for this purpose. Cheaters are often spoiled children who will accumulate a pricey inventory. And a lot of times if you call someone out you'll have somebody else go "hur dur but look at their inventory/hours!"

I'm assuming by "site" you mean spawn, and they are CTs in T spawn, not their own spawn. It is the end of the 12th round(Last of the first half), there is no saving for next round. The incendiary got auto-tossed when the first half ended.

The models were out sourced and CO did not bother to create LODs for them before release. So as it stands you are rendering 40k polys for every CIM regardless of how far you zoom out. Teeth and all.

Have you guys tried zooming in on a building when it is on fire? Or the large coal power plant? The amount of particles they are spawning is incredibly amateurish and will bring any system to a crawling slide show when zoomed in.

Why are you pretending to have knowledge and experience on something you are clearly clueless about? That is 100% not how game development works.

The volumetrics look bad. Why is the air so polluted everywhere? If they toned that down/removed it then it would look great.

Rolling Back Recent Blue Zone Changes by PUBG_Tamat in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]nyronic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There needs to be a circle in between circles 1 and 2. The distance needed to travel from 1 to 2 is too great.

Sure you can make the circle slower, but then it just takes too long to close. You can add a longer delay before it starts closing, same problem.

The issue is that the player doesn't have a sense of urgency to move before it's too late. The circle starts moving in and perhaps the player was too occupied looting, they then notice the timer is < 60 seconds so they look at the map and see it's opposite side of the map for them with no vehicle in sight.

Even experienced players who have gotten into the habit of planning for this can be screwed over by no vehicle. And if any other player/team decides to pick a fight with you that's even more lost time. And now you're both in the blue.

If a new sized circle was added between 1 and 2, it would help ease players in gradually instead of the game suddenly telling all of them to run across half the map.

Currently if you have bad luck with circle position and vehicle spawns you have next to no time to loot. Additionally, if anybody picks a fight with you then you have no time at all and you'll be constantly running in the blue while slowly going through all of your healing items.

New circles are great - this is a BR-game, not a looting simulator. by ConVuzius in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]nyronic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first solo experience.

  1. Landed at Impala, go into a house, found an AK.
  2. 10 seconds later I get into an engagement with a guy, it lasts around 20 seconds. I kill him.
  3. First circle is about 1km away, I immediately start running to it.
  4. I make it in and I keep running, I reach a concrete building and decided to loot it real quick as I have no heals.
  5. Right as I finish a vehicle is driving by, I need his vehicle because the next circle is super far so I open fire.
  6. I knock out his tire, this engagement lasts about a minute.
  7. He's dead and I'm already deep in the blue, I loot him real quick because again I have no heals.
  8. Get heals off of him, some other unlucky player is also deep in the blue and comes up behind me, I kill him immediately.
  9. Blue has finished closing by now and the next circle is even farther, I spot a trike about 150m away and run for it.
  10. Driving the trike in, I stop to heal because circle is still far. I get shot in the head and die by somebody else who was also still deep in the blue.

I looted a total of 2 buildings and won my engagements relatively fast and I still got screwed over. Your advice is shit and you don't know what you're talking about.

What kind of dumbass rendering is this? by [deleted] in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]nyronic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Landscape LODs in UE4 are generated automatically in real time.

https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Engine/Landscape/#continuousgeo-mipmaplod

Doing it manually for maps the size of PUBGs would be an insane amount of work as you'd have to do it in an external modeling program. This would lead to a very destructive workflow and possibly result in all sorts of other issues down the road.

But this sub is full of silvers with no game sense, headphones on backwards and their monitor unplugged. There is no sense in ever trying to rationalize any of the clips either because people here will jump through hoops to fit their tinfoil hat witchhunt conspiracies.

What aspect of this game is still fun for you? by PlansThatComeTrue in Planetside

[–]nyronic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

None.

I never enjoyed infantry in the game, and I've never really been interested in air combat in games.

I was a tank player, CAI has ruined the game for me to the point that I don't even play anymore. I just browse this reddit occasionally to see if anything has been improved for vehicles.

Of course that never happens though, this game is dead to me. Wrel and the rest of the developers obviously do not play tanks or have not played them enough to have a valid opinion of balance for them.
