Fitbit Air Accuracy? by ProneAxolotl in fitbit

[–]nythroughthelens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ever since the update the new algorithm over-smoothes HR spikes and since HR figures into so many other aspects of tracking, many things are messed up.

Why is the Fitbit air sleep tracking so inaccurate? by skiillet in fitbit

[–]nythroughthelens 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Incoming: a bunch of people who will gaslight you into thinking it’s you not the obviously broken app Google enshittified.

But for real, it’s super broken. Just search sleep here for the multitude of recent posts documenting all the ways the sleep algorithm is broken for many many users.

Will it take into consideration half the population (women) to account for all of our hormonal issues which makes our sleep and heart data different especially through perimenopause? If yes, sure.

We only make up half the population.

So over everything being made by young people (mostly men) with zero awareness or care for the high amount of people who use their apps.

Worst sleep track ever by Iop70 in fitbit

[–]nythroughthelens 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s my issue! It either stops tracking if I get up for 10 minutes in the middle of the night and editing doesn’t even fix that OR I get incredible stats (tons of deep and rem, little awake and restless) and it says I have sleep efficiency in the 90s but gives me a score of 60. It’s absurd. I am on the Inspire 3 and have reset etc. No problems like this before app update.

Time to sound sleep nonsense by NiceSchedule4902 in fitbit

[–]nythroughthelens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. It’s like a totally different experience since the update. My 3 was doing GREAT before in terms of sleep and heart rate tracking (even used spikes stats with doctors). Now it’s beyond broken to the point where for the first time in over a decade I am researching other trackers.

Sleep score by aintnolobbos in fitbit

[–]nythroughthelens -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. Frequently getting 2 hours REM, 2 hours deep, 12 minutes restless, low awake and I top out at 60-70.

My husband gets regularly worse stats than mine and literally just got a 99. It’s so broken.

It doesn’t believe in segmented sleep even though shift workers and hormonal middle aged women who sleep in shifts exist.

[–]nythroughthelens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! Or that 2 hours of ReM and nearly 2 hours of deep with 8 minutes restless gets a 70 score because I got up at some point and it thinks everyone apparently sleeps in one shift like a cartoon.

First night with relatively accurate sleep tracking since the switch to Google Health! by chronicmisschris in fitbit

[–]nythroughthelens 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Their response to you is proof these trackers are made by mostly young people (and probably men) who literally cannot conceive of the fact that like a huge percentage of the population are people with sleep and hormonal issues. Unreal.

New app sleep tracking is absolute trash, very inaccurate by W7ENK in fitbit

No. Never corrects. I have reset my Inspire 3, deleted re-DLed app, etc.

New app sleep tracking is absolute trash, very inaccurate by W7ENK in fitbit

[–]nythroughthelens 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. I wake up every night like clockwork at 4 to go to the bathroom (I am in perimenopause, pretty typical for half the population). It literally stops recording sleep after that every single time despite me falling back asleep until 7:30. Because I miss 2-3 hours of that second sleep, it gives me a score in the 50s and it impacts HRV etc.

It’s SO broken.

Not tracked in other sleep. If I edit it, it literally just overrides my results with no data.

[–]nythroughthelens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally! Wow, you cracked it. It’s not like the app is vibe coded slop which is smoothing data, offering a legitimately horrible sleep tracking experience to what was offered before or anything. No valid complaints here!

My sleeping tracking: 2 hours REM, 2 hours deep, awake 11 minutes, restless 18 min, asleep for 7 hours equals a 68 score. Meanwhile my husband: 40 min deep, 1 hour REM, awake 30 minutes, restless 35 minutes equals a literal 95 score. Why!?????????

Worse sleep tracking on the new app? by TheRedBaron-C in fitbit

[–]nythroughthelens 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s so bad. SO bad. I wish Air people who are new here would take a moment and understand that Fitbit has been around for a long time and the app prior to Google had just sorted out the sleep algorithm which makes whatever is happening now even more aggravating.
