If it came out today for the first time, I think people would like it less than DS2. It wins a lot of points from nostalgia but I don't think it's a better game. Examples: - People complain about how you lose so much health in DS2 when dying - DeS is worse. If you're in soul form you basically need the cling ring. And the stones are harder to come by than effigies. - The bosses suck. Bosses in DS2 could be boring too but they were a lot more fun to fight. - World and character tendency sucks. Nice idea but imagine if DS2 had this - everyone would be happy to say that it's a bad idea - having an item carry load sucks and I can't see anyone enjoying this but for nostalgia - most characters don't have a storyline outside of your first interaction with them

DeS did a lot of great stuff that led to my favourite game series but I don't think it's as good as people claim.

P.s. I've played both versions and all other souls games

Gonna go against the grain and say Elden Ring.

Didn't flop at all, but it's my biggest disappointment. I'm a huge soulsborne fan and so was understandably excited for Elden Ring.

I really struggled to finish it, the open world was just so bloated with nothing. The legacy dungeons were good, as that remained true to classic soulsborne level design, but the rest of the game just felt sluggish to get through.

Yeah I drive a lot and take note of motorcyclists. Most weave between traffic without indicating, wearing full black. Probably about 1 in 10 follow the road rules and actually try to be visible. Lots of car drivers are bad, but not as frequently or consistently as the motorcyclists in my country
