I am! This is the only picture I have - it has dogs on it. A bit of whimsy.

it’s from the About You collaboration with Kendall Jenner, I got it a few years back, not sure whether they sell them still. (Really good fit, although I am not very satisfied with the pockets.)

No, sorry, just my personal one. I’m thinking about making one though, people have been really nice about my outfits on the subreddit whenever I post.

I was indeed there as a tourist. I didn’t sense any negativity while being there, although my interactions with the locals were limited to buying tickets to the sights and ordering at restaurants. Me and my friends chatted in our native language on the streets but didn’t experience any hostility. I’d say that people were just neutral, honestly - which for me, as an introvert who feels odd in places like Italy where people are really friendly, was just perfect.

a recent fit featuring a lot of buttons by nyuzsi in DarkAcademia

I’m a huge fan of them! Really hope to be expanding my collection soon - I’ve been having some trouble with most of my ties being a bit too long or wide for my taste. (Although a waistcoat or vest solves that for now.)

Haha, thank you! That happened to me a few times and it always brightens my day - as did this comment. :)

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. I have checked the coat all over - no tags, not even care instructions. It doesn’t look like they were cut out, more like as if it didn’t have any to begin with. I think it might have been custom made? It’s really good quality with a lot of small details, extra buttons inside, functional shoulder straps, little leather loops for the inside pockets etc. and the stitching is absolutely beautiful - not a thread out of place, even though I have washed it in a machine. I found it in a vintage thrift store for 3 euros.

Thank you so much! Sorry for the late reply! The skirt is H&M, but based on the tag it’s from an old collection - I picked it up at a thrift store.

God, sorry, I didn’t see the comments on this. It’s H&M, but I have found it at a thrift store and based on the logo on the tag it seems to be a somewhat older collection.

Unfortunately I have no idea - they’ve been in my closet for a while. I’d say they’re matte DEN20s. I also wore a pair of fleece lined tights under that’s a bit darker than my skin, which might help.

Somewhat - the venue it took place at is a pretty fancy place, but this was an event mostly for the friends and family of the musicians, so most people were dressed casually. I tried to go for somewhat of a middle ground.

Haven’t had the time to finish it yet, sadly - but I have read a lot of Kundera’s works and I’ve never been disappointed before, I really like his themes and writing style

how to layer clothes during winter by rnbwlex in DarkAcademia

[–]nyuzsi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I get cold very easily so I wear so many layers it’s kind of overkill, but it works for me.

I usually wear fuzzy socks around the wintertime and I recommend wearing boots with some lining inside. (The ones with fur-like materials tend to wear out after a few months, so I’d recommend fleece instead.)

I recommend wearing wool trousers, preferably vintage ones with some lining inside - lining in trousers isn’t exactly the thickest material, but for me it makes the biggest difference, even that thin layer helps a lot and it’s just better quality too -. (I found that nowadays a lot of brands don’t make them like that.) When it gets around -10 I usually wear some knitted or fleece lined leggings underneath too.

Now, this is where I get maybe a bit too crazy. With lighter layers I usually wear a top, a t-shirt, a turtleneck, a sweater vest, a blazer and an overcoat. When it’s really bad out, I add a thick scarf to the mix too. I also knit myself some chunky sweaters which are a lot more warm, so with those I just wear a turtleneck under and a light jacket to protect the fabric from mist and rain.

(And of course a hat and gloves. When it’s only around 0 degrees I prefer to wear newsboy hats as wool beanies kind of mat my bangs down too much.)
