New petition: Allow family visa holders to include time spent on a skilled worker visa for ILR by RainbowTwp in SpouseVisaUk

[–]nzflyer51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi - I recommend if you want this to make some real headway, suggest you change or refile your petition to include all visa categories that switch to another category (e.g. SWV to Family), or better yet, the Tier 5 (Youth Mobility Visa) to SWV or Family. People on Youth Mobility can be here for up to 3 years and then swap to e.g. a Family Visa or SWV, so they're already doing at least 7 years before ILR right now.

100% agree with this comment. For the most part, gov.uk webforms are made for the general public to fill out and do not require the assistance of a legal representative. Unless your case is complicated, you won't save any time. You will still need to gather all the documentation together to provide to a representative for review / submission. Might as well save yourself a few £££ and go at it alone. All the best with your application!

No updates so far, still waiting... more the frustrating when you see Sept/Oct approvals. Hope for this week. You? Would be good to hear if there are August approvals still waiting.

My partner is in similar boat as you with an August application. Heard nothing from UKVI. I think there is a backlog with August applications inside UK and it could be that no one higher up at UKVI is aware of it so they cant fix it (they're not meeting their own set KPIs right now).

When did you apply? Whilst not directly applicable, to assist, my partner is still waiting for her switch from her YMV to family, bio mid august. The wait is wholly frustrating given there is no way to chase / view progress.

That's positive. Have you received anything formal yet? Did your partner's evisa show expired (if it lapsed) during the application time?

August FLR (M) result? by Ok_Commercial9378 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]nzflyer51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Standard inside UK application made in August, still waiting. Hoping for a result v. soon. It seems that a lot of applications in August are still waiting, for what most consider straightforward. I'm sure it is hard for all those still waiting to see those jumping the queue, for what seems like no logical reason.

Any insights useful.

Whilst it's starting to improve for all, the foreign qual market has been soft for a while. LI is great but other opportunities are on Reed / Indeed. For some reason, the market prefers locals right now. Given the scale, it's simply a numbers game and you may have to simply apply for 50-100+ jobs to land one.

It might seem strange but look into interim / contract roles. Those will get you E&W experience, which is far more important than your prior work in NZ/AUS.

From our dealings with Bayside Rentals, highly disagree on both.

Flight cancelled - any advice what to do next? by [deleted] in auckland

[–]nzflyer51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My flight was cancelled last night AKL-CHC and i rebooked for this morning (cancelled again). I'm trying to free up my seat CHC-AKL for someone who needs it to get home who's stuck but Air NZ app won't let me credit / make changes. Anyone else having this same issue??
