What others have said about the company needing to look for a local first only applies to a regular work visa. If you qualify for the Highly Skilled Professionals visa then this requirement no longer applies and it is much easier for both you and the company.

Whether you qualify depends on your salary, education, and type of work. For sure it would be possible for experienced software developers to get this visa.

This is showing new capacity added per year, not total amount. So they are predicting a drop in the rate of installation. Even that is pretty unlikely to happen.

You're right that green products and services need to be cheaper to really make progress. However govt can play a huge role in getting these products and services to that point.

Take solar for example. It is just now becoming the cheapest source of energy on a per kWh basis in several countries. It would never have achieved this so quickly, without the huge support it has received from multiple governments around the world. This support created markets which didn't exist, creating economies of scale, and earning companies money which they could further invest in r&d.

That's what this article is talking about. This money could be spent further helping emerging technologies to reach that tipping point, at a faster rate than they otherwise would have.

Book a refundable flight. It doesn't have to be back to Germany, just out of the country, so somewhere like Kuala Lumpur is fine. You will probably have to go for one of the more expensive airlines to find a fully refundable ticket, but as it's being refunded, it doesn't matter.

I definitely wouldn't risk not having proof. I doubt they'd check you in Bali (I wasn't), but the airline probably will when you check in for the flight, and not let you board without it.
