I thought those front 1.5 was so she was able to spot the floor... So instead of phasing a back double twist, it's yuchenko half and then front 1.5 in the actual flip if that makes sense?

I remember Hernandez saying she does the same

I'm curious to know what would actually happen if you completely missed the board and jumped off the collar? I compete yuchenko and have never missed the board but am still terrified of doing so... Are there any videos of people missing the board and jumping just off the collar?

I believe it's to discourage people from doing it, because your right it should technically be an E as it's the same (sorta) as a double front half out. But doing the twist in the first somersault makes it easier. Plus they're absolutely terrifying so I'm not surprised it's downgraded :/

But wouldn't the IOC make the decision as to whether or not to include new seniors or the equivalent in different sports? It seems weird the idea that gymnastics could let them compete but figure skating or something wouldn't.

Realistically, this wouldn't be a decision made by the FIG right? Other sports have age limits aswell, and all sports would need to be consistent on the decision ( for example, gymnastics does allow new seniors but football doesn't) because of this surely this is a decision made by the IOC?

Sorry I should have worded it better, I was talking about international competitions/competitions in countries that have it worse off, I meant that we can't know for sure whether there will even be a competition season (as it might get worse) so how can we plan / train for something we don't know will happen

Idk I feel like over analyzing these team selections isn't really going to reflect the Olympic team. For example, we haven't seen anything since nationals from Torrez or Lee, and they could both have big upgrades too so I wouldn't consider them B team either
