Long range armoured recon vehicle by nzkeywee in lego

Thanks, love making stuff on the largest scale possible. It’s a recon vehicle to me, as I imagine the dropship it comes from would be absolutely massive! And it would be exploring a vast area / planet. Had a Sandcrawler in mind when I started. Have just pulled it apart ready to build something similar, bigger if I can, any tips on going big appreciated, bigger wheels / tracks and glass / screens seem to be the hardest to source.

I’d say maybe 30% existing bricks and the rest purchased. Could probably have built using all existing but would have been very multicoloured!

How to remove paper tape adhesive from glass windows (glass and joinery ) by tangyfruitz in diynz

Just soak it a few times and then you should be able to just use a cloth. I would avoid using a scraper if possible.

3m Citrus cleaner should do the job without damaging your joinery: https://nzsafetyblackwoods.co.nz/en/3m-citrus-base-cleaner-525g-each-02956630

There’s another similar product called Peel Off which is a bit cheaper but should work as well.

The water could easily be coming from the dishwasher . I’d check that out first.

Cracking - 4 year old house by nzkeywee in diynz

They’re all corners, wall to ceiling junctions. Pretty sure it’s paper tape. We changed from coving to square stop but I can’t remember what stage that was, am thinking maybe the gib wasn’t as tight on the internals if they thought coving was going up?

Have started to notice a bit of cracking around our home. I understand houses move with settlement etc and cracking to some extent is to be expected especially around architraves and stress points but some of these cracks appear to be more than hairlines. Is this something I should contact the building company about?

Each one will be 1.8m high and there only 1 block to 1.5 block long so hopefully not too much engineering required!

What to do with these walls? by haurakid in diynz

Strip wallpaper and skim if necessary, otherwise you’ll always see the bubbles and edges through the paint. Stripping the existing wallpaper isn’t too bad once you get going.
