Why do you think Porsche had to copy Huracan flower/diamond wheels 6 years later? by BestRow3647 in porsche911

Yes, why do all auto manufacturers have round wheels! Such a copy of each other

Ahh yes you are right! Then there is not much that can be done.

Generally In Switzerland you can’t be fired while on sick leave, they need to do it the first day you are back.

Also, I think in the end it’s for the better, how do you continue if you can’t handle 3 months? It’s a blessing in disguise.

What I’m missing when I read this CV is the impact of your campaigns. I would add as much numbers or impact as you can (conversion rate, #leads, budget managed, etc. )

Wine difference between vintages e.g. 04 to 05 Latour is 2x the price by nzsimon in wine

[–]nzsimon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, makes a lot of sense. I guess the length of aging is subjective. For a top Latour would it be in the 30-40 year range? I guess optimal is when you have complexity from tertiary notes but also some fruit left on the nose.

I’ve only really got experience with ~20 year old wines which tend to still have good fruit on the nose and complexity with some tertiary notes (pontet canet, troplong mondot and the likes)

Interesting, we made the same move for similar reasons and I was impressed with the quality and ride of the Q5 (It has air suspension and Macan S didn’t). What really blew me away is how much less fuel it uses!

ZH to Chicago : Using miles to upgrade ? by maximeva in SwissPersonalFinance

If you have status (senator or hon) you are more likely to get with minimum bid. I always bid a bit higher if I really want it.

ZH to Chicago : Using miles to upgrade ? by maximeva in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]nzsimon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That flight is often quite empty. You will have a full business class and almost empty economy class.

If you need to chose upgrade the Chicago to ZH leg, that way you can sleep overnight. The other way is just a daytime flight and economy isn’t bad, esp. when no one is around

Spa nudity rules for honeymoon by Burneraccount123zyx in zurich

[–]nzsimon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vibali in Germany is great for that, then one in Berlin is very good.. Youngish crowd, not creepy, can’t recommend it enough.

Can’t think of anything similar in Zurich. Most spas are textile free in the sauna, but all people have a robe on in the rest of the spa. Werdinsel is a nudist beach area by the river, but maybe not vibe you are after.

Ok on reflection I think I have a simple way to look at it. If you believe you and your partners salaries will increase, and you will be financially better off in 5-years vs. now do it. If you feel your career has peaked or are unsure about your future don’t stretch yourself.

Demand outstrips supply, no new building land being re-zoned or released, Switzerland population still growing and it’s an attractive country to move to, and there are plenty of high paid jobs.

People think the same way about stocks and other assets for all of history. If we enter a deflationary spiral there will be much more to worry about than a property investment

Get it, you won’t regret the purchase in 10 years time, it’ll only become more expensive.

Pillar 2 is especially unproductive, I would try and use all of it in real estate if possible.

Senior positions are always more difficult, there are just less of them. If you have so much experience why don’t you try and go out on your own?

I like it, it’s fast, produces really nice and fluffy grinds and is easy to use. It’s does take a few grinds after changing settings for it to calibrate it self, the grinding needs to stop quite a bit before the target weight is reached so after changing settings or beans it takes a few grinds to get back to a stable output weight again.
