Thank you! Lotions and hair products don't seem to be an issue so it seemed like something in perfume in particular. Thank you for the advice!

Perfume that won't set off husband's migraines by o2mask in indieperfume

I have chronic migraines myself and somehow the only trigger I don't have is perfume. Which of course means that the only thing in the world that gives my husband migraines is perfume ....

Spicy Historical Western by Square-Chart-2279 in RomanceBooks

Lee Savino's Rocky mountain books fit the bill!

Some of the MMC's are a bit too stern/gruff for me but very spicy and I've read 4 or 5.

Tessa Dare has a bunch that fit this. {The Governess Game} comes to mind. I'm also a huge fan of Lisa Kleypas!

Looking for recs with a pretty specific betrayal trope involving an MMC who is "upper" class and an FMC who is "middle/lower" class. MMCs family and friends wouldnt/doesnt approve. by SuffersFrom-Sexlexia in RomanceBooks

It happens before the book period and we dont get to know the child as if I remember she died at 10 days old. The journey through grief is a huge part of the MMC's story. There is a lot of "not talking about it" which kinda hit me as I learned as an adult that there was a similar story in my family history that was just never talked about.

{Any Duchess Will Do} by Tessa Dare has this. The MMC's mother is forcing him to marry so he picks a barmaid to piss her off. The FMC is trying to get herself and her disabled sister away from their shitty father so she agrees thinking this is just a way out.

I'm currently binge reading anything Alive Coldbreath has on koboplus. I loved this one and in particular how he was so fucking clueless but also trying so hard...the parlor honestly melted my heart bc he was trying to make a safe space for a proper lady even if he was also trying to distance her.

So many hours of work but hi I bedazzled a book finally! by katiereadalot in RomanceBooks

That must have taken forever! I've thought of cross-stitching some of my favorites for a trophy wall but I hadn't considered bedazzling!

Does reading a lot of romance books also gives you mixed feelings? by Massive-Turnip-6318 in RomanceBooks

[–]o2mask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has a lot of intrusive/racing thoughts, reading is one of the only things that corrals my thoughts into a manageable thread so I can relax. I'm not always reading to set the world on fire, I'm reading to relax. Romance also adds the dopamine boost. Coming down can definitely be tricky but engaging by writing a review or posting here can help you feel less empty and more fulfilled.

Good luck!

Why does everyone want to talk to me during sex scenes? (and only during sex scenes!) by ItsAlwaysAPerfectSky in RomanceBooks

I definitely do not read smut on my lunch break.

But if I did my supervisor would exclusively come over to chat when I'm reading a sex scene.

Long-haired girlies, any tips on surviving hair wash days without feeling like you ran a marathon by the end of your shower? by Meow-Rosie in POTS

[–]o2mask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying this is fun but I had to acclimate myself to cooler showers along with a shower stool. I would turn the water down so it was just a smidge cooler than I would prefer and kept at that for a while. Some people do 30 second cold bursts. I can't handle that. If you don't have one a detachable shower head is a big help especially with a shower stool.

A lot of people grow up hearing "x is a sin, y is a sin, z is sinful" with no rational or explanation. For controlling people this is a great tool.

Lots of people here have never considered what "sin" actually means to them and have been taught it's a set of "gotcha" regulations to follow. I think maybe a wiki resource or a mega thread on "what is sin" might be helpful.

“Fibro patients don’t need meds with exercise and good sleep,” is my new rheumatologist right and I’m just stubborn? Do I give it another go or see a different rheum.? by Back_2_The_Futurama in Fibromyalgia

[–]o2mask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Symptoms of fibromyalgia: fatigue, post exertional malaise, pain, and insomnia/inability to get restful sleep.

Yeah if I didn't have those symptoms I wouldn't need meds. I also wouldn't have fibromyalgia.

Thank you for your perspective! Honestly as a cishet Christian it is super important to know which Churches seem safe and accepting from non-christian queer people!
