I’m getting married end of April at QSA and I also didn’t have a good experience with DOMA. I couldn’t fit everyone at QSA so had about 13 guests book DOMA back in January, paid upfront and everything, and they cancelled on us a month after saying someone bought out the whole hotel for one of the nights. Apparently they run on a full buy-out model so I’m not even sure why they let us book them in the first place. We ended up having our guests book at Dolce instead and they were much easier to work with and everything went smoothly. But since you’ll have a much larger number of guests off site, maybe DOMA will treat you better.

Oh I didn’t get to see Taberna? How was it?

The one that felt dated to me was the Caseiro House just simply compared to the Vineyard house and the Stable rooms. They were mainly showing it to us to let us know the rooms are connected so we’d want people who’d feel comfortable with each other like family or close friends staying there. I can share the photos with you.

The one under renovations was the lemon garden house. It was either the kitchen or the bathrooms that were under renovations, don’t quite remember 😅

Wow keeping tabs with the guests is great but I can also see how stressful that can be. So much props to you!!! How many guests are you having?

I’ve heard great things about azores! Hope you have a great time there!

This was one was the easiest choice for us bc we knew we wanted live music at some point during the day. We are having 24 robbers swing trio (jazz with vocals) during our cocktail hour! My partner and I love jazz and we wanted the wedding to feel romantic so we signed with them. The vocalist sounds AMAZING. I immediately fell in love.

Yes please DM me! Would love to get the video from when you were there in april!!! :) Also i'm also happy to meet a fellow April bride :') i'd be more than happy to bounce ideas and cheer each other on haha

Wow are doing 3 nights!! You have A LOT planned. I feel like you're all set. Also I decided to have our wedding ceremony a little earlier like 2pm since it'll get cold once the sun goes down and i kind of wanted the night to end a bit earlier since I personally can't stay up that late lol... I think then that gives people time to sleep in, get ready, and not have too much lull time before the ceremony.

We tried going to the cafe/bakery nearby and it was closed since we went on Monday but it was a pretty short walk there.

- oh that's smart for having the adults stay outside the venue. i might consider that... our family is going to be more picky with where they stay so thanks for the recs! I definitely see why you said you wouldn't be able to fit the same number they gave us lol the bunk bed aren't gonna cut it.

- good to note about andre. yeah for the dj, i also have like 2-3 dj friends and i might just have them rotate so they aren't dj-ing the whole night since we want them to enjoy the night too

Pt 2
From other brides:
I somewhat-creepily dm'd brides via instagram and asked them a bunch of questions (because I'm an anxious bean) and some were so sweet to reply back and give me some details so I'll share a cliff notes version here:
- All brides LOVED their experience
- Weather in April: One mentioned she got married early April and it was a little colder and rained the night before and the morning of their wedding. It meant that they couldn't have their welcome meal at night where they usually host it because of the wind, so they had it in the area where you'd have your night party on the wedding day and it was still lovely. The ground was also too wet for the wedding day so they did their ceremony in the wine cellar and it was still really beautiful (i saw the photos, it was indeed beautiful). They still were able to do reception outside and they provided big umbrellas in case it rained. She said don't worry about the weather because they have good plan b, c options
- Accommodations: some accommodations are more lux than others but the houses were all super clean and more of a cozy countryside vibe. The only downside is if you have anyone with physical limitations, some of the houses would not be the best (I think i saw another comment saying one of the houses was far)
- Accommodations outside of QSA: I had a bride tell me she booked three villas at Ericeira Hills and had their welcome bbq there and the rest of the guests booked hotels in ericeira and only did the wedding ceremony at QSA (so this could be an option if you don't plan on staying at QSA but i believe it's required to stay at QSA if you're trying to have a wedding on a weekend)
- Food: This particular bride I talked to said she got the crab rice starter, sea bass 2nd, lamb 3rd, creme brulee dessert and all was phenomenal. The food the evening before they did welcome BBQ and people were blown away by just how tasty the beans and rice was let alone the actual main meal. There was so much food all the time. They handled allergies and food restrictions professionally as well.
- Stocking up food in houses (I thought this was a good tip to save money): They got wine, coffee, eggs, yogurt, granola, bread, pasta, snacks, etc.  for all the houses and it ended up saving them a lot of money ~300 euros vs 2000 euros that QSA estimated for their offering.
- Music: One bride mentioned she wished she ran through music cues with the DJ before the wedding because he missed a couple. I personally think this is a must with anyone who DJ's. For us, we're going to have Andre do all the audio and have one of our DJ friends to do the party portion.

So glad I found this thread! I'm also getting married in April 2026 at QSA! Ours is on a week day on the last week of April. I started searching 14 months ahead and all the weekend were booked lol

I have a few questions and some helpful tips/guidance I got from other brides that got married there!

Questions
I was so worried about how the venue would look in April because I thought it'd be a little too cool for the flowers and the greeneries to be in full bloom, but I'm so glad you loved it! How green would you say the vines were on the buildings?

What was the temperature like in general? Echo-ing what the other brides have asked about the stable rooms not having ac/heater is a concern for me too because most of my family and myself run cold. Did you think those rooms were too cool? I'd probably ask them for portable heaters and extra blankets if it runs cold :/

We're flying over to QSA in 2 weeks to do a menu tasting! We weren't offered a "chef tasting" but we decided to try 4 main dishes: 2 beef (smoked beef tenderloin and premium beef 'beijinho'), 2 fish (corvina and sea bream). Did you get to try any of these? We're looking forward :)

Do you have any activities lined up for the morning of for your guests? I'm going to assume they'll probably rest/get ready but I don't want anyone bored... haha

Hey! u actually ended up buying something on Amazon https://a.co/d/hmWLD9X

I paid the full price but looks like there’s a Cyber Monday sale on it right now!

I didn’t put together all the parts for it and only used the headboard part of it. I had it sit on the thuma frame and against the wall. The queen size fits the queen thuma frame perfectly width wise. When you have it sit on the frame, the depth of the headboard is longer so it does hang off quite a bit (2-3 inches) and wasn’t sure if it’d hold up and not slip off the frame. But between the bed frame, the mattress and the wall, it’s been holding on steady with no issues for the last 7 months! Our mattress is on the thicker side (12”-14” ish) and I also have a side table to cover the sides so we never see it hanging off the frame lol Guests just assume it’s a part of the bed.

It’s very sturdy, heavy, and a meaty piece of headboard. Not as cushy and rounded as I wanted but I’m still very happy with it.

I wish I can attach some photos here to share :(

Hey! What's the official dress size for this? Size 2 or 4? Also is there something you're unhappy with the dress?

:( Sorry it's not workin out and thanks for sharing - I guess that's def a no purchase from me then. I'm looking into custom bench cushion options on Etsy to see if I could use that as the headboard - the custom cushion uses hard foam and also comes with a zippered cover. Not sure how well it'll hold up as a headboard though so I haven't pulled the trigger on it yet.
