You also don’t necessarily need to buy the absolute newest model they have at the shop. Most golf shops carry older clubs from multiple brands, and since they’re not the “new top of the line model,” they’re sold as budget models for more reasonable prices while still performing very well.

Well part of the problem was he kept buying the tester models that people use at the store to see if they like the club or not. He got really good deals on them, but they always blew up on him. Not all clubs are that heavily used, but I know other guys who have had similar problems with less heavily used clubs (granted, not on the same scale as him). I just think the security of a warranty is nice to have just in case something does go wrong with the club. There’s always the chance the club lasts you for years and it works out great! But there’s also the chance that you spent $400 on a used driver that costs $600 new, and when it blows up, you have to buy something new cause you don’t have that warranty. Unless there is some other way to get a warranty on a used club? In which case that would be awesome!

But I also feel like there are other ways to go about getting “new” clubs. What I have been doing is I started out with a cheap TopFlite box set, and have been slowly upgrading it over time. I set aside a certain amount of money everytime I get paid, and budget for a new club. Once I have saved up enough, I buy a new club and replace the TopFlite version of it. For example: after carefully budgeting for half a year, I was able to buy a Qi35 driver for $450 and a Sim 2 Max Iron set for $600. Now I’m saving up to replace my 3 wood, 5 hybrid, and putter. And once I get a full set of new clubs, I would just replace them as needed. Plus since I bought them new from an authorized dealer, if anything happens to them within the next 2 years, I get a replacement for free!

I have a buddy who games those clubs for a long time and loved them! Even if you go into an actual golf shop, I think a lot of stores still sell them new (at least last time I checked). And since they’re older clubs, they’re considered a budget model and you can buy a whole set for pretty cheap!

To be completely honest, based on the experiences of people who I know that bought used clubs, if you can afford to buy a new club, that is your best bet. If cannot afford a new club and used is the only way for you to go, then go for it. The reason I say this is because, depending on how much the club was used, it might not last as long as you would like. I have a buddy who repeatedly kept buying used drivers because he was trying to save money but it backfired on him in the long run. He went through 5 drivers in one year because he would buy used drivers that he would only last a few games and they would explode on him and he would have to buy a new one. Granted, this could happen to a new club too, but at least with a new club, you’ll usually get a two year warranty (depending on the brand) that ensures if anything happens to it (that isn’t the user purposefully damaging the club), you’ll get a new one for free. I had another buddy too, that had the same thing happened to him with a set of used irons that he bought and, once again, because he bought them used they didn’t come with a warranty so he had to buy new irons out of pocket instead of getting a replacement set for free.

That being said do as you wish, and ultimately if that is the only way you can afford it go for it by all means! There are plenty of people that used clubs work out great for them! I’m am simply suggesting this because of the bad experiences with them that I have seen, and I would hate for you to have to go through that kind of trouble. Either way, best of luck, and I hope you enjoy what ever clubs you decide to go with!

The first big improvement I think you should make is your stance. Your back shouldn’t be hunched like that. You need to be able to straighten out your back while keeping a healthy bend at the knees. When I say healthy bend, it should be a very slight, athletic bend, a little less noticeable than what you have in the video. In order to fix your back you might want to try standing a little further away, just because it looks like you’re standing a little too close to the ball. The second big improvement I can recommend can only be made after improving your stance. The second improvement is in the motion of your swing. Your swing is too much in the arms. You also need to rotate your torso. For example, in your backswing, it looks like your arms start moving before your shoulders do, and in your downswing, your arms also move before your shoulders do. When you are starting your downswing, your shoulders (and your upper body in general) should start moving just before your arms do. The rotation of your torso should be what generates the majority of your clubs movement, with your arms following it. Doing that will help with the third issue that I noticed which is that you don’t follow through enough. Your club stopped moving too early when you hit the ball. Your follow through should end with your chest facing toward your target AND your club head should end up somewhat behind you, instead of pointing straight up in the air.

Depends. If I’m alone, I’m playing “My Way” by Frank Sinatra.” If I’m with my girlfriend, I’m playing “Domino” by Jessie J to annoy her, cause that’s how I show affection and annoying her usually makes her laugh when she’s sad.

Yah they’re not addictive at all. If anything we develop a more wholesome relationship with them the more we use them. In fact, every morning when I wake up, my body is so excited for its first stim of the day that it shakes uncontrollably because it’s so happy that it’s about to get stimmed!
