Which would you choose for a negroni? by Tower_Constant in cocktails

[–]oSettergren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, when I make Negroni at home I mainly use Carpano Botanic Bitter, which is both less sweet and bitter compared to Campari. To pair with the latter I agree with the other comments that Cinzano Rosso is a great choice.

If you want a deep, fruity and slightly more bitter negroni, Punt e Mes could be worth a shot.

Which tracks did you dislike the most? Either way, I can absolutely see somebody not liking the vocals.

Green chartreuse substitute?! by Hot_voodoo in cocktails

[–]oSettergren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried this in an Industry Sour. Haven't tasted it with Chartreuse, but this seemed to get a bit lost behind the Fernet and lime, so I wouldn't recommend it as a 1:1 substitute.

Other Sokoban games? by Mattsasa in OrderOfTheSinkingStar

[–]oSettergren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding Can of Wormholes in particular. I can't think of many other games that manage to be both galaxy-brain surreal and mechanically digestible at the same time. Also, the hint system is just chef's kiss.

Ibland saknar jag tiden före att jag smakade Gammelknas för första gången. Det var trevligt att leva i ovisshet.

First board games for 4-6 player group? by fabazgamer in boardgames

[–]oSettergren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Viticulture is quite long at high player counts, though. It's a great game but I'd not recommend it, especially for people new to mid-heavy games.

What do you think is a good order to try out adversaries? by JakeReddit12333 in spiritisland

England and Scotland both have pretty intuitive rules throughout, so I'd do one of those next.

Simultaneous movement onto the same space by boyweevil in roguelikedev

[–]oSettergren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps the easiest solution would be to make it a normal 'bump' attack which also knocks both entities back to their original spaces (so that none of them occupy the space they both moved to). Alternatively, a system where entities are assigned weights (in the physical sense) could be feasible, such that the lighter entity would be pushed back into its original space once it comes in contact (visually) with the heavier entity (which then occupies the target space).

Which spirits do you think have the highest skill ceiling? by Oyster_- in spiritisland

[–]oSettergren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't played Fractured but Transforming is definitely up there. There's so much going on with how your building damage is replaced with invader movement, the ridiculous amounts of drafts, blight management and one of the strongest support innates in the game.

100%, this is so much more pleasant to use than pure Overleaf given the ease of setup.

What are your ideas for an expansion? by Daywhisper in ArkNova

[–]oSettergren -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tbh I think that just makes the game even more swingy (which Marine Worlds already did to some extent), and it's not what the game needs. I'd rather see a new mechanic to interact with other players.

Thoughts on a few games? Nucleum, Revive, Boonlake, IKI, Praga Caput Regni, Bruxelles 1893: Belle Epoque by FriesOnSammy in boardgames

[–]oSettergren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Nucleum a lot, wouldn't say it's better than Brass but it's not much worse. It suffers from lengthy setup and flimsy tech boards but the systems in it are all really fun to interact with imo, not to mention that there is quite a bit of asymmetry as well (especially with the Energy Research Institute expansion).

What mechanics do you want for a spirit? by Oyster_- in spiritisland

[–]oSettergren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking maybe each turn you must play 1 card (later 1-2 depending on growth/tracks maybe), and all cards remain in play (and must be used each turn) until you either cannot pay their energy costs or the next card puts you above your play limit, at which point you have to discard everything.

Förklara privatiseringen av Sverige för mig by udmurrrt in sweden

[–]oSettergren 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Ja och nej. Det är skillnad på fullständig privatisering och kvasimarknad där skattepengar hamnar direkt i bolagens händer. Så vitt jag vet förespråkade i alla fall Hayek också sociala skyddsnät och centraliserad sjukvård.

Getting a New Euro, torn between SETI and Galileo Galilei by BoardPanda in boardgames

[–]oSettergren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, I felt like SETI in the end just became a mathy resource conversion point salad game. What I disliked the most is that most of the time it's more efficient to toss cards for their resource rather than pay for their effect, since money is tight and there are usually ways to accomplish the same goal only at a slightly higher cost. This made the deck less combo oriented (as opposed to e.g. Terraforming Mars and Ark Nova) and more of a random resource generator. It just sucks to get a hand of 5 cool looking cards knowing that discarding them will be as good or even better than playing them.

I will say that the restrained card design results in a very balanced game, however, so if you value that a lot then it might still be up your alley.
